Director of Financial Reporting
WeWork is seeking a dynamic business professional with extensive SEC reporting experience, great overall project management expertise, and strong analytical and problem solving skills to assist the Global Head of Financial Reporting in overseeing an expanding and fast paced financial reporting group. The ideal candidate will be self-starter, willing to roll-up their sleeves and do whatever is necessary to help deliver a world-class reporting function for a quickly growing organization.
Responsibilities:
• Responsible for managing the preparation and review of external reporting financial statements and footnote disclosures and drafting management discussion and analysis similar to SEC 10K requirements. Various monthly, quarterly and annual external reporting requirements exist
• Implement a robust management reporting function including master data management and assist in the design and running reports for various business units, regions, segments and locations
• Oversee the monthly financial statement close process and prepare and analyze monthly management reporting packages. Includes overseeing the preparation of an executive summary of significant month over month fluctuations for delivery to the CFO and serving as a key review control for overall review of monthly financial data.
• Monitor and ensure timely identification and compliance with evolving accounting and disclosure requirements
• Communicate and explain accounting issues and evolving accounting guidance to the management team
• Manage communications with external auditors on external financial statements and accounting issues to ensure auditor agreement with company decisions on accounting disclosures and issues
• This role will report to Global Head of Financial Reporting
Degrees/Certifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance
CPA Certification
Required Skills:
• 10+ years experience in SEC report drafting required (10K’s, 10Q’s, S-1, Proxy, etc.) and ability to stay current and research trends in SEC reporting. IPO/Registration Statement experience a plus
• Ability and willingness to quickly adapt in a rapidly changing environment
• Strong and extensive knowledge of US GAAP
• Experience with reporting multiple segments and business units including intercompany allocations between segments
• Strong Excel skills and the ability to manipulate large data sets
• Excellent project management and interpersonal skills. Ability to motivate teams to produce quality materials within tight timeframes and simultaneously manage several projects required
• Strategic thinking and leadership experience with an emphasis on relationship management and communication at all levels within an organization. Facilitate and coordinate multiple deadlines, create cohesive teams, and respond quickly to management requests
• Experience with Workiva’s Wdesk a plus
