Sr Tech Business Developer, Prime Video
DESCRIPTION
Amazon is seeking a talented, highly motivated and experienced individual to join the Prime Video team as a Sr. Tech Business Developer. This role is responsible for owning and unlocking value through the strong technical partnerships required to grow Amazon's Prime Video business, particularly as we execute on our ambitious technology goals and expand our business internationally. Your goals will be to work with technology stakeholders to effectively negotiate business agreements that benefit Amazon and its customers, and provide ongoing support of these partnerships to drive growth and customer engagement.
A successful candidate will be able to problem solve, scope, clear roadblocks, coordinate launches and dive deep to ensure Amazon customers have a great video experience. You will engage with partners and vendors directly and work with a team of experienced business development and digital media technology professionals. Key functions include:
• Enabling key vendor relationships to ensure efficient delivery of Prime Video's product roadmap
• Defining key contract terms and parameters with the Amazon business, legal, and technical teams
• Coordinating with other Amazon business development professionals to leverage opportunities across the greater Amazon organization
• Negotiating contracts, owning and building strong relationships with external vendors, and presenting a unified vision to our partners
• Persuasively representing Prime Video technical capabilities and requests to vendors
• Investigating, identifying and prioritizing key partnership opportunities with technology vendors
• Preparing and delivering business reviews to the senior management team regarding progress and roadblocks
• Managing 3Ps, notably during the business development, qualification and technical implementation stages. Implementing and optimizing the technical aspects of distribution relationships
• Managing relationships after deployment – coordination of post-launch device activities and contract enforcement, including technical aspects to increase engagement and 3P problem solving
• Driving and refining the 3P technical engagement process around integration and distribution
• Managing long-term strategic interests as well as the tactical and day-to-day
• Coordinating closely with product, engineering, software development and technical program management teams to ensure continuity of the technical needs (and their solutions) from 3Ps (partners and vendors alike)
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
• BS/BA with 7+ years of business/partnership development experience, preferably in video technology
• Demonstrable technical and operational experience in digital video, consumer electronics, or a related field
• Experience in managing external customer and vendors, preferably with 3P applications in the digital video or comparable space
• Proven leader who has experience leading engagements cross-functionally
• Excellent organizational skills including prioritizing, scheduling, time management, and meeting deadlines
• Demonstrated ability to quickly grasp and discuss technical concepts, tradeoffs, and opportunistic new ideas with technical employees and partners
• Superior verbal and written communications skills are a must, as well as the ability to work effectively with multiple teams and external organizations
• Demonstrated ability to engage and influence senior executives (internal and external)
• Analytical horsepower to break down complex problems, and a strong will to get things done and deliver results
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Experience working within the consumer electronics, mobile, and or media industries is highly desired
• Advanced technical or business degree (MS or MBA)
• Working knowledge of Digital Video channel and the technologies employed by CE companies, game consoles, set top boxes, SOC and middleware, broadband service providers/CDNs, telcos, and wireless operators
• Leads with confidence and with little supervision
• Collaborative leadership, capable of driving internal & external stakeholders to consensus while balancing product / technology needs with longer term relationship objectives
• Experience in product or project management or engineering in digital video or consumer electronics, including supporting launch of new applications or rolling out new features for existing products
• Proven track record of getting things done, rapidly shifting gears between business development and technical account management and managing competing priorities
• Evidence of sourcing, supporting or implementing complex 3P (partner and vendor) agreements
• Superior written and spoken English communications and persuasion skills, with a high attention to detail
• Ability to travel 25% as needed
