About the Role
The Director of Finance Systems is responsible for amplifying the efficiency, effectiveness, and overall organizational impact of the Finance Systems (Workday and all other supporting systems), as well as how these Finance systems interface with other proprietary and third-party systems in the WeWork application ecosystem. Must be a highly collaborative, proven leader who is consistently focused on the needs of the business and able to help the business understand where and how Workday Financials can improve and enhance business decisions and needs.
This pivotal role will partner with senior leadership from Finance, People (HR), Technology, Community and other business stakeholders across the company to ensure that all financial systems needs are well defined, implemented, and supported. This individual will also play a critical role to ensure that all emerging requirements are planned and implemented in compliance with regulatory requirements, system capabilities, and in support of all business goals.
Responsibilities:
• Overall responsibility for Workday Financials day-to-day support and strategic improvements working with the functional business owners within Finance functions and across the company, including Accounting, Finance, Treasury, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Procurement and Community.
• Partner with senior leaders in their respective areas; manages expectations and influences management strategy, provides project execution and scope decision, and balances priorities and workload across resources
• Champions finance data security working with technology security manager to verify cross application security policies are in place and followed
• Build strong relationships with the stakeholders and serves as the "face" of Workday Financials for the organization.
• Establishes credibility throughout the organization and sets the example as a proactive manager and change agent who positions Workday Financials as a vehicle for process optimization and self-serviceability
• Drives effective governance and engagement with partners and suppliers to ensure cost effectiveness and timely deliverables
• Leverages Workday functionality to develop efficient Finance business processes and use Workday to automate and simplify functionality
• Recruits, motivates, and develops talent
Experience / Skill Requirements:
• Deep and broad knowledge of the functions and configuration of Workday Financials is required
• 10+ years of experience in Financial Systems Support and/or Service Delivery with at least two years at a managerial level overseeing vision, direction, budgets, hiring and leadership
• 2+ years managing Workday Financials delivery management, including scoping, planning, resourcing, implementation management, and adoption management/support
• Exceptional interpersonal skills with a natural and proven ability to collaborate and form strong relationships with leaders, peers, and subordinates
• Proven experience as an effective project manager and change agent
