Senior Director, Analytics & Strategy (Hotwire - San Francisco)

The Senior Director, Analytics & Strategy will partner closely with the President of Hotwire and the Hotwire Leadership team to drive the strategic vision for Hotwire and facilitate the strategy execution. In addition to these efforts, this role will also lead a Data Analytics team that will leverage our data to empower and support business decisions across all functions of Hotwire. This is a highly visible role that will interact and influence all levels at Hotwire and will have the opportunity to fundamentally shape the future of our brand.
Scope & Responsibilities:
Strategic Analytics & Reporting:
• Work closely with Hotwire leadership as well as our Product and Technology teams to accelerate our efforts to deliver deep business insights and actionable recommendations based on data insights and analysis
• Develop the strategic road-map, business analytics capabilities, and methods to power our efforts to improve the Hotwire business
• Establish org-wide analytic processes across a wide set of domains and develop our ability to gather and deliver deep customer insights
• Partner with our Business Intelligence and Data architecture leaders to continually improve and provide feedback on data environments, platforms, utilization and user experience
• Support Hotwire President and other senior leaders with ad-hoc analysis, and drive select high-impact strategic initiatives
Strategic Planning, Implementation & Management:
• Partner with senior leadership to continually define and drive the long-term strategy of Hotwire and establish a global multiyear plan of strategic investment priorities. Build foundation for plan through assessing industry trends and strategic opportunities
• Collaborate with Hotwire leaders and the broader Finance, Product, and Technology teams to translate the strategic plan into an execution-focused series of 90-day plans
• Support the execution of strategic, annual and 90-day plans through effective collaboration with Hotwire and EI teams though ongoing alignment & guidance for tactical operations, and technology/product initiatives across the Hotwire organization
• Establish review cadence and prepare materials for business and technology reviews (QBRs, CEO/CFO reviews, etc.). Collaborate across the broader organization to prepare financial reviews
Qualifications & Skills:
• Bachelor’s degree in Business and/or Computer Science or related Engineering disciplines. MBA or advanced degree strongly preferred.
• 5-7+ years of relevant experience in a top-tier management consulting firm (Bain, BCG, McKinsey)
• 10+ years of experience in technology, product management or analytics
• A demonstrated track record of shaping business strategy for technical products or services
• Proficiency in the development of best practices within the technology, product management and analytics space
• Excellent quantitative data analysis and critical thinking skills
• High performing leadership capabilities; analytical and data-driven, can prioritize well, communicate clearly and compellingly at all levels and who understands how to drive a high level of focus and excellence with a strong, diverse team
• An engaged collaborator that can partner effectively across Hotwire and Expedia Inc. teams
• Possess a solid blend of business strategy and technical savvy; a big-picture vision as well as the drive and attention to detail that transforms the vision into a reality
• Excellent written and verbal communication as well as presentation skills
