REQUIREMENTS:
• 5-7 years related internet consumer marketing experience.
• Outstanding knowledge, experience and understanding in database marketing and consumer relationship management as well as merchandising analytics.
• Experience in developing testing strategies and successfully analyzing and implementing data to determine if results are scalable.
• Strong financial acumen and the knowledge of sophisticated modeling tools.
• Background in circulation planning.
• Experience working on brands that have experienced growth in multichannel distribution environments helpful.
• Strong strategic and analytical skills -- the person in this role must have the ability to forecast consumer trends as well as experience with sales curve forecasting.
• Must have a keen interest in uncovering questions which will lead to creative new ideas to build the customer base.
• Strong leadership skills to include having mentored and trained others successfully.
• Strong technology skills: have an understanding of ecommerce systems, email systems as well as Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point
Description
The Marketing Director for established and growing company 1-800-Baskets.com and newly established Simply Chocolate, both divisions of 1-800-Flowers.com, Inc., implements and monitors brand positioning within marketing efforts. This person is responsible for strategic and tactical direction, leading the development and execution of direct mail and digital marketing programs, leverages the company's customer database across all channels, increasing customer acquisition, builds high customer retention rates; resulting in achieving significant revenue growth.
The ideal candidate for this position has experience in database marketing across online and business to business sales and has the ability to build effective relationships with leadership team members of key cross-functional departments Operations, Purchasing, Product Development, Sales, Finance, and Interactive Marketing. Additionally, the individual in this role will work closely with the brand General Manager in developing campaigns around new product categories and business opportunities in the food gift category.
The individual in this role directs the interactive marketing programs in conjunction with the Interactive Marketing team in the 1-800-Flowers.com NY office. They direct the e-mail and direct circulation, as well as direct mail development & production. The Marketing Director has the Assistant Website Manager and Art Director reporting to them and reports to the VP and General Manager of 1-800-Baskets.com.
• Evaluate and implement growth strategies for the 1-800-Baskets.com and Simply Chocolate. Define and implement the total customer experience vision to build a strong brand.
• Define and execute effective customer acquisition programs
• Define and coordinate Call Center support (customer contact, sales and service)
• Plan, design and manage web site creative and functionality initiatives for 1-800-Baskets.com
• Define, develop and execute direct-to-consumer marketing strategies including online advertising, email, direct mail, portals and affiliates.
• Manage SEM/SEO and organic search systems and programs
• Define, develop and execute corporate business gift services (BGS) marketing strategies
• Maintain and report analytical data including customer profiles, response metrics, and conversion rates
• Manage artwork and graphics development for print and online channels
• Develop campaigns to grow and tell stories around product categories
• Manage social media campaigns.
