VP or Sr Director - Strategic Product Partnerships, Service Cloud
Lead a team responsible for developing strategic product partnerships and associated strategies for Salesforce's Service Cloud and related products, reporting to the Head of Strategic Product Partnerships and Business Development for Salesforce.
The ideal leader in this role will have the ability to identify gaps in our product line and develop strategies to fill those gaps organically or inorganically. This role owns the relationship and engagement with current and future OEM and reseller partners, ensuring partner commitment and product offering success. Additionally, this person will maintain regular communications to support field sales enablement and communicate key wins.
Responsibilities
• Business Development
◦ Define Build, Buy, Partner, or Incubate strategy for Service Cloud partners
◦ Develop new Service Cloud partnership opportunities to help meet customer needs and fill product gaps
◦ Lead product efforts related to emerging partners to build robust ecosystem of Service Cloud ISV partners
◦ Meet with and evaluate companies for potential partnerships; drive the internal decision to buy, build or partner
◦ Work closely with the Service Cloud General Manager and Corporate Development team to support Service Cloud M&A strategy
• Strategic Partner Management
◦ Lead enablement and deal support for existing partners and related products
◦ Lead regular quarterly business reviews and executive touchpoints
◦ Report on pipeline and key wins for related product offerings
◦ Negotiate and execute contract amendments and renewals
• Project Management
◦ Lead cross-functional teams in the following areas for partnership-related deliverables:
# Legal: contract amendments and renewals
# Finance: deal support and contract renewals
# Product Management and Engineering: product definition and roadmaps
# Product Marketing and PR: marketing communications, enablement, partner PR
Required Skills
• Market and Technology Analysis
• Business plan creation and modeling
• Complex Transaction Negotiations:
◦ Structure, negotiate and close strategic partnerships agreements
• Cross Functional Collaboration:
◦ Engage and foster collaboration with external and internal counterparts to ensure ongoing alignment and execution across functions at both executive and managerial levels
◦ Develop, execute and monitor a time-based cross functional plan for achieving defined partner business objectives with associated metrics
• Executive Presentation and Presence:
◦ Build and present recommendations, status updates and resource requirements to internal and external executive teams
Requirements
• 10+ years of combined experience in product management, business development, or partnership programs
• Proven success of developing, structuring, negotiating and closing complex deals
• Experience in Saas business model
• Excellent analytical and technical expertise to build business models, strategies and to articulate inter-dependencies
• Outstanding C-level communication and interpersonal skills to convince executives across various functions to take action
• Passion and commitment for partner success and a tested ability to maintain a high level of productivity while managing competing priorities
• Independent self-starter that can set their own direction when needed
• MBA and experience in customer service or CRM market are preferred
