Mozilla is searching to fill a Sr. Project Manager position to work with the Mozilla IT team on leading medium to large scale strategic projects. The Sr. PM leads projects with team members in multiple locations in a global environment, and is responsible for building and leading cross-functional project teams to ensure projects are successfully implemented and capabilities are delivered. To be successful, you will develop plans and project timelines, own the completion of milestones, prioritize actions, report status, handle risk mitigation and eliminate blockers as needed.
As a Sr. Project Manager at Mozilla, you will...
• Align projects with capability and product roadmaps across multiple quarters
• Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the precise execution of projects
• Lead multiple projects concurrently
• Develop project scope and objectives, involving all significant partners and ensure technical feasibility
• Ensure resource availability and allocation
• Work with remote employees as effectively as local ones
• Develop a detailed project plan to track progress
• Use appropriate verification techniques to handle changes in project scope, schedule and costs
• Measure project performance using appropriate systems, tools and techniques
• Report and raise blockers to management as needed
• Maintain the relationship with the client and all partners
• Perform risk management to minimize project risks
• Establish and handle relationships with third parties/vendors
• Build and maintain comprehensive project documentation
Your Professional Profile
• 7-10 years of project management experience in an IT/Operations environment
• Strong organizational skills to juggle activities without losing sight of the highest priority items
• Ability to understand concepts and make reasoned decisions with sometimes imperfect data
• Strong communication, relationship building and negotiation skills
• Be results and detail oriented
• Ability to communicate and work well with leaders within IT and the business
• Experience with software development and delivery using Agile (Scrum, AUP, etc) and Waterfall
• Experience mentoring teams and delivering projects with Agile practices
• Experience with running projects and programs using PPM tools
• Experience working with a geographically-dispersed workforce through the use of video conferencing and Internet chat communications tools
