We are looking for a Sr. Director of Public Relations to join the Corporate Marketing team and drive strategic media relations and programs to support our corporate, product, partner and customer initiatives.
The ideal candidate is passionate about driving PR programs, comfortable working with senior executives, and strong in media relations. The role requires a strategic thinker who has a knack for managing high-profile stories like features and profiles and enjoys building PR programs that go beyond the news of the day to explore the broader role of technology in business.
Responsibilities:
• Drive strategic communications and media strategy and execution for all RingCentral company, product, partner, customer and event related announcements
• Provide communications counsel to key internal and external stakeholders, including c-level executives and senior leaders
• Cultivate and own lasting media relationships with key business and technology press. Be viewed as a trusted source of information and ideas by reporters, resulting in positive coverage for RingCentral
• Drive the positioning and messaging for major company initiatives, responses to issues and industry developments
• Lead the creation of high-impact communications assets such as bylines, Op-Eds, executive blog posts, messaging playbooks, customer stories and more
• Manage a small, high performing team
• Manage budget and public relations agency to develop communications plans, and execute to maximize results
• Work with analyst relations, social media, brand, content marketing, investor relations and other Marketing teams to drive integrated campaigns
Experience/Skills Required
• 15+ years of experience leading media relations ideally some of this for a publicly-traded company. B2B experience required.
• Highly motivated and committed leader with management experience including setting the vision for a team, driving towards goals, and offering development and mentoring
• Proven track record in creating innovative and targeted communications programs that generate results
• Solid track record for generating positive media coverage across all channels, including social media
• Existing relationships with key press contacts for relevant industry/trade and business media
• Proactive and outgoing with a get-it-done attitude.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, and can be equally effective in both formal and informal settings with press, customers, senior executives, peers and business partners
• Accomplished range of skills from high level strategic thinking to creative and detailed execution
• Comfortable in a fast-paced environment
• Bachelor’s degree required ideally in Journalism or Communications.
