Our Marketing team sets product positioning and strategy, manages product launches, and gathers customer insights. We’re responsible for maximizing our products' potential, in order to delight our users and help Dropbox grow. We partner with teams across the company, including Product, Sales, and Engineering.
Role Description
The Global Head of Content will be responsible for building the Dropbox brand and audience through a combination of compelling content creation, distribution and engagement strategies across paid and owned channels. We’re looking for someone with the perfect combination of creative and strategic horsepower, who knows how to connect content, social, and digital efforts directly to business growth objectives. You'll will help us harness storytellers and creators from within and outside the walls our organization. You’ll build a cross-functional, high velocity content engine and work with teams across the organization to support our overall brand and growth goals.
Responsibilities
• Develop a cross-functional, high velocity content engine that leverages talent from within and outside the Dropbox organization. Deliver content that balances quality and cost efficiency while supporting the company’s various audiences, channels and business objectives.
• Align our global content and social media strategy in terms of channels, platforms, tools, and governance, publishing, and community management approach to maximize the reach and impact across owned channels.
• Develop a world-class editorial team that creates written content that elevates the brand narrative through product and thought leadership while delivering on performance goals for audience development and SEO through the Dropbox blog(s).
• Collaborate with Brand, Influencer, and Event Marketing to develop partner-driven content and distribution opportunities that align with brand and business marketing initiatives.
• Strategize, brief, plan, and lead execution of campaigns to support key brand, product, and business objectives, bringing ideas from presentation to production.
• Partner closely with the Brand Design team on our visual identity including visual design, voice and tone, applying it consistently across all of our content and channels.
• Partner with Product Marketing and Digital Marketing teams to identify, create, and repurpose content to support sales, acquisition and lifecycle marketing needs through Dropbox campaigns, landing pages, blogs, etc. Develop content to support the company’s SEO goals through content, partnerships, and social media efforts.
• Partner with Marketing Operations to develop content measurement framework. Develop rigorous approach to testing, measuring, and optimizing results to maximize business impact of content efforts.
• Develop and inspire team members to push boundaries, discover new approaches, test new tools, and take calculated risks to produce high impact results.
Requirements
• 8+ years in marketing and/or agency positions, with content, social, and digital leadership experience at a top brand or agency.
• In-depth knowledge of content, social and digital marketing trends, best practices, and tools of the trade with a curiosity and thirst for continuous discovery and learning
• Successful management experience — expert at building and leading a team, as well as influencing teams and cross functional partners across the company.
• Experience managing agencies with successful delivery of campaigns, frameworks and other brand assets.
• Deep understanding of, and experience with creating breakthrough content and effective distribution to elevate a brand in terms of cultural conversation and business impact.
• Extraordinary written and oral communication skills; with direct past experience leading editorial teams and in writing and briefing creative teams.
• Deep connection to local brand/agency community and people resources with a consistent track record delivering world-class creative results.
• Proven leader with demonstrated experience in building strategic creative plans.
• Hands-on, roll-up-your-sleeves, style – ability to actively build and evangelize work in an environment that is not always linear in its approach.
• Strong presentation abilities as a means to build consensus around strategic objectives and project plans.
• Strong analytical skills and technical chops to establish analytics framework to measure the results of content, social media and SEO initiatives. Comfortable working in a data-driven environment - you'll work with analytics team to measure success of each campaign.
• Understanding of the interplay offline and online and between paid and owned content distribution channels.
