Position Overview
Houzz is looking for an execution-oriented, analytical leader who can drive solutions to key scaling challenges and inform strategic direction as we continue and revolutionize the home and remodeling industry.
Our Industry Solutions business has complex challenges to tackle and a myriad of opportunities to scale and extend. We feel that it’s the perfect time for an experienced operator to help accelerate our growth.
You will be a part of the Industry Solutions Product team, a reflection of the fact that we consider this role to be both strategic and executional in nature. You will serve as a “PM of our business”, owning key metrics, drawing insights from data, and help us identify and accelerate growth, engagement, revenue, and profitability opportunities.
The ideal candidate is highly analytical and can develop thoughtful solutions to a wide variety of critical challenges. You will work closely with product, analytics, engineering, sales, finance, and operations teams to define and execute on strategic growth-related initiatives across the business. Your set of responsibilities and projects will be quite diverse, but business judgement, problem-solving, a data-driven mindset, and a bias towards execution are the skills that will make you successful.
Contributions:
• Collaborate with leadership, product, analytics, engineering, operations, and finance teams to identify, define, and launch strategic and operational initiatives to scale
• Relentlessly manage the key metrics (KPIs) of the business and product
• Ensure products are performing in line with our high expectations. Help Identify, diagnose, and resolve performance issues
• Identify key areas of operational efficiencies and growth through market research, competitive landscape analysis and your own intuition supported by data
• Develop predictive models to forecast our growth, engagement, and revenue; identify expansions of our business and new opportunities for investment
• Identify operational efficiencies to the business that will enable scale
• Own the end-to-end execution of projects by working with a broad cross-functional team
• Measure and effectively communicate results to the entire organization
• For the experienced candidate, there will an opportunity to build and grow a team over time
Desired Skills & Experience:
• B.A./B.S. degree, with an M.B.A., or Master’s/Ph.D degree in a management or technical field
• 6+ years of relevant work experience, typically in management consulting, product management, investment banking, or venture capital
• Deep and extensive work experience in consumer Internet and/or early stage companies
• Highly data-driven and analytical in nature
• A track record of executing successful complex strategic initiatives
• An innate ability to work seamlessly with technical and non-technical folks and earn their trust
• A self-starter with an amazing ability to solve problems and drive projects to completion
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to communicate with a wide range of team members and job functions
• Ability to synthesize and present results effectively to cross-functional teams
