In this highly matrixed role, you will build services, tools, and process that drive success for our infrastructure teams. This role is part of our
Corporate Technology team, but you will work very closely with other technology partners. Working with your partners, you will develop a robust set of services that help our server, networking, compute, and storage teams. At the start, you will develop services that will provide capacity and risk management, inventory management, and financial planning services. You will own AND operate the tools needed to provide these services. Simultaneously, you will develop a relationship with a service provider that will deliver premier monitoring for our Corporate Technology team. As your services mature and delight your partners, you will expand your portfolio allowing your partners to rely on your team for routine operational tasks.
Responsibilities:
• Be a strength multiplier for our infrastructure teams
• Select products, design processes, and run tools that support your mission.
• Build great services that your partners actively seek out
• Work with external service providers to build mature services rapidly
Lead the following process areas:
• Capacity Management
• Patch / Risk Management
• Inventory Management (Software and Hardware)
• PO Generation to Product Delivery
Be responsible for the following technology areas:
• Capacity Planning Tools
• Hardware Asset Management Tools
• Software Asset Management Tools
• Monitoring Tools (CorpTech Only)
In the first 90 days, you will:
• Become a trusted partner to your stakeholders
• Select a set of tools that provide capacity management services
• Select a set of tools that provide IT asset management services
• Select an external partner to provide Monitoring as a Service for CorpTech
• Select the monitoring tools our partner will use to monitor our systems
• Keep your software & hardware ordering team happy and productive
In the second 90 days, you will:
• Deploy the capacity management and IT asset management tools you selected
• Get your external partner up and running and our monitoring tools to 100%
• Select a datacenter inventory management tool
By the end of the first year you will:
• Have matured your service offerings and be hunting for new challenges to pursue
• Have people in the organization seeking out your services to take on their challenges
Requirements:
• You aren’t just a great teammate; you build teams people aspire to join
• Highly accomplished in capacity management and inventory management
• You are equally excited by crafting processes and selecting tools
• Extensive background in infrastructure technologies (Servers, Virtualization, Storage, Networking, Etc.)
• Highly detail oriented
• Know how you measure success before you know how you will provide success
• 5+ years in Management
• BA/BS degree required, MA/MS preferred
• Hands-on technology experience in an Infrastructure role (Servers, OS, Virtualization, Networking, or Storage)
• Enterprise experience (1500+ member organizations)
