Position Overview:
If you are a curious and intuitive self-starter with top tier experience in marketing and strategy Hotwire is seeking your skills to accelerate our growth across the business. As Director, Strategy you will report directly to the President of Hotwire and partner with the team to ideate and execute against key strategic initiatives to refine and evolve the business. You will have responsibility for all Hotwire board and executive level presentations. You will sit at the nexus of leadership team and the broader business, utilizing this vantage point to generate and execute initiatives benefiting the business.
While having frequent direct contact with the leadership team across Hotwire and Expedia, you will make an immediate impact on our business and be given the ability to grow and advance in an exciting, fast paced area of the travel industry. You will be exposed to every facet of our business, allowing you to gain the perspective of a General Manager. Responsibilities:
• Work to evolve the Hotwire value proposition, partnering with the core teams who own these areas on a day to day basis
• Act as Chief of Staff including but not limited to running leadership team meetings, planning off-sites, organizing team strategy and leading discrete critical projects for Hotwire (generally highly meaningful to leadership with no previous clear functional owner)
• Utilize all methods of reporting/data available to identify areas of prioritized opportunity for Hotwire
• Execute tests to validate the evolution of the Hotwire business model
• Define the optimal mix of products Hotwire should be providing to customers
• Actively track and respond to competitive threats as needed
Experience and Qualification:
• Bachelor’s Degree required; MBA preferred with demonstrated experience in a top tier strategy consulting firm
• Previous experience in managing and effectively influencing large matrixed teams in a hyper-competitive industry with validated experience succeeding with large projects
• Consistent record of decision-making derived from business analysis and hard data
• Familiarity with eCommerce functionality as it relates to web analytics
• Management consultant level written and verbal interpersonal skills
• Proven track record of creative and structured approach to problem solving
• Experience in retail, P&L ownership or a variety of marketing channels is a plus
• Strong attention to detail, excellent organization skills, and ability to handle multiple projects/responsibilities
