Director of Product - Trover
Expedia
The Brand Expedia Global (BEXG) Retail Organization is looking for an individual with a strong product management background and visionary spirit to own the product evolution of Trover. Trover is a photo-centric platform for collecting and publishing creative traveler content via the mobile web, web, and mobile applications. Trover was acquired by Expedia in July 2016.
The Director of Product Management will work directly with the Trover development and marketing teams in addition to the Trover General Manager to
1) innovate the core Trover community/content experience,
2) develop and deploy travel offers within the core Trover experience, and
3) support the integration of Trover within BEXG & EI offerings. The goals are to increase engagement/productivity of Trover content creators, increase engagement & monetization of consumers, and use Trover to increase the engagement, CVR and NPS of consumers within BEXG and EI product platforms.
Responsibilities:
• Establish the vision, business goals, product themes, roadmap, and A/B testing strategy for Trover Mobile Apps and Websites.
• Bring together detailed requirements from partners/customers/industry/marketing. Collaborate with software design engineers, designers, usability engineers and testers to identify feature details and document them in functional stories.
• Support tests and features with quantifiable observations. Define product success metrics and provide analysis of business impact, and lead executive communication on results.
• Lead feature trade-off decisions informed by cost, schedule, and business benefit.
• Engage development, test, and operations to deliver features to production and drive problem resolution once the features have gone live.
• Spearhead ongoing market research and competitive analysis to stay ahead of industry trends, product & technology developments, and customer demand.
• Nurture and share a point-of-view regarding the broad social/travel product arena, trends, and implications for Trover & Expedia.
• Partner and engage with various Global Product Organization teams to inform features and identify areas for collaboration.
Qualifications:
• Minimum 5+ years of experience as a product manager, with a track record of defining and delivering a roadmap of product themes and features across web, mobile web, and mobile app clients.
• Demonstrated ability to think creatively about customer need, envision new solutions and form hypotheses that can be tested through product experiments.
• Strong analytical abilities with demonstrated ability in defining and executing key analyses that generate actionable insights with minimal supervision. Experience with web analytics and AB/Multivariate testing methodologies and tools.
• Proven ability to motivate and influence a diverse and geographically fragmented team including internal and external decision makers to achieve set goals.
• Comfortable operating at both strategic (can establish and drive high-level priorities) and tactical (can execute and deliver results) levels.
• Strong project management skills, including the ability to juggle multiple projects at a time, prioritize effectively, and to meet deadlines.
• Strong written and oral communication skills; including fundamental presentation abilities and the shown ability to articulate ideas clearly and expertly to influence others
• Experienced with agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban).
• Experience/interest in User Generated Content.
• Experience/interest in social engineering and design.
