About the role:
We are looking for a VP, Finance West to lead the Finance team for the West Region of the USA. This role will work directly with Regional General Manager to develop plans and strategies to achieve our long-term growth objectives in the West Region. He/she will provide strategic, commercial and financial planning support to the region and will develop and drive financial analysis and metrics that support strategic decision-making. The ideal candidate will have outstanding commercial acumen, strong communication skills, proven ability to work cross-functionally, and strong team leadership skills.
Responsibilities:
• Lead development of annual operating plan and budget for West Region and prepare quarterly forecast updates
• Lead development 3 year Strategic Plan to achieve financial objectives and ensure region has adequate resources (human, financial, capital)
• Partner with sales and marketing organization to determine ROI of spend and evaluate customer profitability across segments/accounts
• Identify opportunities to improve profitability by driving efficiency of building operating expense, improve occupancy, and grow average revenue per member
• Prepare weekly and monthly executive reports including progress on key priorities and metrics
• Work effectively in a matrix organization by closely liaising with various departments (sales, marketing, real estate, design, construction, and operations) to improve operating processes, efficiencies and reporting.
• Maintain and enhance efficiency of internal financial reporting processes
• Create ad-hoc analyses to drive business strategy, improve efficiency and maximize ROI
• Help drive finance discipline, fact-based decision-making, and financial visibility throughout the West region
Qualifications:
• BA/BS degree; major in finance, accounting, and/or economics
• MBA or Master’s degree desired
• 12+ years of experience in finance and/or accounting; FP&A and experience leading a field finance team are strongly preferred
• Expertise in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
• Strong communicator and collaborator
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Highly motivated and willing to take on multiple responsibilities at once
• Able to work comfortably under pressure and meet tight deadlines
• Knowledge of ERP systems is a plus
