Position Summary
We are seeking a Vice President of Product Management to lead a portfolio of our retail products and drive improved financial performance and customer success. As a leader of this team, this position is responsible for enhancing existing products and creating new and differentiated products to drive profitable growth by better meeting the needs of current and future customers. The position owns the P&L for all products in their portfolio, and partners closely with the product marketing team to define and execute go-to-market strategies. The position reports to the SVP of Retail Market and Customer Experience and will work closely with the executive team and senior functional leaders to develop and execute a long-term vision for the portfolio and define product roadmaps. The candidate must have demonstrated leadership and management skills.
Responsibilities
• Your team's primary responsibility will be for the overall success of one of our retail product portfolios, as well as setting and executing its strategy.
• To form that strategy, your team will work closely with other functional leaders to gather information from a variety of sources: customer research, sales data, internal and external customer's website traffic patterns, user behavior, competitive market analysis, etc.
• This individual will be knowledgeable about industry trends and will integrate advances into our products and our portfolio strategy.
• You'll work with senior leadership to align the company around your product strategy, roadmap and milestones, and thus to set your team up for success.
• You'll oversee major cross-functional efforts that pull together team members from such departments as sales, service, fulfillment, marketing, and more.
• You'll measure the success of our product portfolio through business responsibility for generating results--achieving our revenue growth plan, customer retention goals, strong CSAT levels, etc.
• As the leader of your product portfolio, you'll integrate plans into and drive execution of new product launches and continuous product enhancements.
• You'll prioritize and allocate resources against an array of simultaneously-running projects, from making build-buy-partner decisions (with appropriate analysis to match) along with bringing major new features or price points all the way from conception to market and into ongoing maintenance.
• We believe that collaboration is the key to great product development, which means you will work closely with our engineering and UX leadership to ensure we are providing products our customers will value.
• You'll mentor and develop your reports to get the most out of their natural abilities.
Qualifications
• Strong strategic thinking ability and demonstrated business acumen
• Track record of managing product lines and achieving financial results
• Demonstrated ability to hire and lead high performance Product Management teams
• Proven success in defining and delivering product solutions that drive customer satisfaction and business results
• Experience working with Agile software development processes
• Experience in and comfort with collaborating with user experience teams
• Experience in and comfort with formal customer research
• Experienced expertise in assessing and interpreting latest market trends
• Strong execution skills
• Strong skills in data analysis and interpretation
• Strong written, verbal and presentation skills
• Strong relationship-building skills, with experience marshaling resources across an organization
• Ability to quickly grasp concepts and solve complex problems
• An intellectual approach to problem solving that welcomes debate without posturing in the pursuit of the best answe
• 10+ years' experience in product management
• 4+ years' of managing direct reports
• Small Business, marketing, and/or consumer facing product experience is a plus
• MBA is a plus
