About the Role:
LendingClub’s Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) team is responsible for overseeing risk management activities including developing and supporting process improvements that create a robust governance culture and finding ways to transform risk management into a competitive advantage for the company.
The LendingClub Director of Enterprise Risk Management will play a key role in helping LendingClub improve the ERM program and more importantly become a trusted partner at LendingClub by actively working with various levels of management to create and implement innovative solutions to identify and mitigate potential risks to the Company. This role reports to the VP of Enterprise Risk Management and
will have two direct reports.
This role is a full-time position located at our headquarters in San Francisco, CA.
Job Description:
• Continuously improve the Company’s ERM program, including how we leverage the Governance Risk & Compliance (GRC) tool used to document, monitor and track risks, KRIs and mitigation strategies
• Work with business partners to identify and document risks across the Company, understand how those risks relate to other functional areas and the corporate strategy
• Ensure that appropriate control activities are designed, executed and mitigate the risks as expected
• Facilitate remediation planning in areas where improvements are required, and track to successful implementation of those plans
• Identify and help the business operationalize key risk indicators (KRIs) that will support ERM’s ability to continuously monitor and track risks and ensure we are staying within our risk appetite/tolerance
• Collate and distribute data to support LendingClub’s corporate governance process
• Assist in preparing executive and board level presentations
• Ensure proper policies exists and are updated and reviewed by the relevant parties, as required by the provisions of each policy (e.g. annual review and re-approval, with adequate change control)
• Manage and develop small team (currently 2 employees)
Basic Qualifications:
• 8+ years of experience in developing and executing enterprise risk management programs
• Comfortable and willing to foster productive relationships with a diverse staff across all levels of the company
• Ability to condense a significant amount of information into Executive and Board level presentations
• Experience in implementing and/or maintaining a Governance Risk and Control (GRC) tool
• Ability to identify opportunities to improve or automate processes at each level of the business
• Possess a healthy respect for strict deadlines and tenacious follow-up skills
• Enjoys taking a “hands-on” approach to solving problems
• Strives in a fast-paced environment and adapts to change very quickly with minimal supervision
• Experience managing business continuity programs
• 5+ years in FinTech or Financial Services, preferred
• Experience Project management, a plus
