The Director of the Business Development of UKI directs and oversees all business development activities to drive the Business Development team to successfully achieve all business objectives.
The Director of Business Development will promote product sales and lead generation through his team and their exciting ecosystem of partners, with specific focus developing the existing relationships and acquire new relevant partners across the UK in five major areas:
• Travel (TMC partners that align on selling our Online booking tool and in gaining competitive advantage through our technologies)
• Financial Servces (Credit card providers like American Express, Airplus and others, and also VAT Reclaim partners such as VAT-IT, Meridian, VAT-Box and TaxBack)
• System Integration and /BPO (large and mid-sized) SI with a passion for bringing solutions to the IT and Finance Communities)
• CSPP (Concur Solution Provider Program) which includes a large number of partners focused on small & mediam sized companies who deliver more value to customers and drive revenye with industry leading travel, expense and invoice cloud solutions.
• Platform partners (helping identify and create mutually benefitial partnership with innovative companies throughout the supply chain including air, hotel, car, taxi and other killer applications that business travelers want integrated into their expense platform). These include Uber, Starbucks, Rocketrip, and AirBnB, many of which can be found in Concur’s App Centre.
The Director of Business Development reports to Managing Director of Concur UK located in Maidenhead. The role has people managers and individual contributors reporting into it. Some travel will be required.
Responsibilities:
• Creates and executes against an agreed Sales and Marketing plan for each partner
• Achieves partner sales revenue and new lead generation performance goals
• Builds and develops strong internal cross-functional relationships
• Establishes and maintains productive relationships with key partners
• Coordinates effective marketing programs within each partner
• Efficiently coordinates the creation and dissemination of forecasting and reporting data to the leadership and executive team
• Employs an entrepreneurial approach to looking at new revenue streams within existing partner base
• Assists resellers with product positioning and pricing/quoting issues.
• Assesses needs of partner sales team and coordinate product and sales training as needed
• Maintains knowledge in product, marketplace and current business issues and disseminates appropriate knowledge to selling partners
• Provides feedback from selling partners to internal cross-functional teams with regard to product selling issues
• May participate in partner sales calls
• Operates under minimal supervision
• Establishes team measurements to accurately and consistently forecast monthly, quarterly and annual metrics
• Establishes effective cross-departmental relationship to drive initiatives to improve the deployment of quality and efficiency
• Pro-actively manages escalated issues
• Participates in strategic initiatives by providing substantive/ tactical input or by leading initiatives as appropriate
• Be aware of, and comply with, all corporate policies
• Manage a team of Business Development Managers (BDM’s)
• Lead the community of BDM’s for EMEA North and South Africa, where small countries need the support of the larger UK team. BDM’s in these countries will have a dotted line into the UK Business Develoment Director
Position Requirements
Education, Experience & Training required:
• BA/BS or equivalent experience
• 7 + years experience in Business Development and/or sales related experience
• Knowledge of the corporate travel industry is highly preferred
• Knowledge or experience managing a diversified portfolio of system integration partners
• Excellent communication skills focusing on persuasion and presentations skills
• Ability to pass a background check

• SalesForce.com experience a plus
