JOB SUMMARY:
The Director of IT Operations is responsible for providing strategic and tactical guidance and management of InstaMed’s current and future systems and network needs while monitoring, developing, implementing and performing routine maintenance activities:
Responsibilities:
Essential Functions:
• Provide leadership during the development and enhancement of InstaMed’s production systems and network.
• Continually refine established disaster recovery and business continuity plans to meet the demands of a 24x7 environment.
• Perform escalation and incident management utilizing ITIL to contribute toward the success of our system uptime goal of 99.999. Perform escalation evaluations and manage the overall incident escalation process. Execute required communications, ensure communications regarding escalations are planned and orderly. Lead and coordinate the escalation team (SMEs) during investigation, troubleshooting and resolution activities. On call responsibility in our 24x7 environment.
• Develop and provide system usage statistics, monitoring approach, and tuning recommendations.
• Provide direction and hands-on support to the IT team in our co-located datacenters.
• Ensure timely fulfillment of request tasks received from other IT & business groups in accordance with customer SLAs.
• Participate in infrastructure maintenance & refresh activities as defined by the IT Operations maintenance schedule.
• Respond to, resolve and minimize adverse impacts to the business caused by errors in the IT infrastructure and may assist with actions to prevent recurrence of incidents related to those errors.
• Perform ongoing monitoring, and reporting of current resource utilization levels, and errors in enterprise domain based services & systems.
• Practice asset management, including maintenance of component asset inventory and related documentation and technical specifications information.
• Maintain an awareness of current security threats, vulnerabilities, risks and associated technical countermeasures and security best practices.
• Support and adhere to all InstaMed compliance and information security policies, practices, and procedures, including the handling of systems and data.
• Enterprise-level experience designing and implementing MS Windows, server virtualization (Hyper-V), Cisco, and EMC infrastructures.
• Develop and provide on-going reporting for IT infrastructure, which includes availability, performance, capacity, risk management, technical problem management, etc.
Qualifications:
• Required: Minimum of 10 years of experience with server, storage devices, and network, and security administration. Minimum of 5 years of management experience. Significant experience with high availability / mission critical operations.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field required.
• Strong project management, requirements gathering and analytical skills.
• Strong communication (written and oral), interpersonal, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with Service Management Frameworks (e.g. ITIL) and Continuous Process Improvement (e.g. Six Sigma).
