Director, Mindfulness & Wellness Content

The Director, Mindfulness & Wellness Content, will be primarily responsible for planning and delivering the setup of Audible’s Mindfulness & Wellness business.
Bringing passion for psychological and physical wellness, psychology of behaviour change and innovative application of media and technology – he/she will work closely with the VP Mindfulness & Wellness Content, liaising with other functions within Audible and overseeing the day-to-day execution of the strategy to make Audible a world leader in wellness and healthy living.
Contributing to the vision whenever relevant, and leveraging data, expertise and intuition, this role is an opportunity to play a central part in creating high quality, approachable wellness content and to build a new but strategically significant part of the business.
The ideal candidate will have some experience in digital media, be an avid fan and listener to spoken word information and entertainment, have good operational and influencing skills, and be able to be a trusted pair of hands in an exciting and fast-moving area.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
• Work closely with the VP, Wellness & Mindfulness Original Content, to execute the vision for Audible’s Mindfulness & Wellness business – translate strategy into concrete plans, identify and manage dependencies and blocks to progress, take ownership of key milestones relating to pricing, marketing, promotion, business development.
• Develop content and programming concepts that align with the vertical’s creative vision – brainstorm ideas for content, analyse market and survey data to understand what audiences are interested in, ensure alignment and consistency with existing content and the overall content vision, articulate and pitch content ideas.
• Work closely with a pool of internal producers to create/deliver exceptional content – ensure progress against production plan, support producers to manage slippages and identify blocks, liaise with marketing functions to coordinate creation of cover art, marketing messages for launch, content placement.
• Manage relationships with content partners – where content creation is in the hands of external partners, support them with liaising with internal touch points, and ensure progress is kept to plan
• Identify, contact and attract producers of existing content that can be acquired as additional material for the initiative – use existing network and experience, as well as regularly scanning new content channels, to find content aligned to our vision, evaluate against criteria, and establish contact to check for openness to acquisition and open negotiations.
• Continually evaluate Audible’s Mindfulness/Wellness portfolio for opportunities to improve and expand to new areas.
• Track audience engagement and help identify ways to continuously improve
• Keep abreast of the competitive landscape in terms of both content and delivery.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Expertise in one or more of psychology, biological sciences, nutrition, physical fitness, healthcare
• Experience in developing audio content
• Is a “digital native”
• Demonstrates track record of complex programme oversight and delivery
• Must possess Bachelor’s or advanced degree.
