Requirements
• BA/BS, MBA preferred in Advertising, Marketing or Communications or related field.
• 10 to 15+ years creative or marketing experience with a successful track record of developing, executing and measuring strategies and tactics.
• In-house creative services team management a must.
• Senior-level creative or marketing experience in a retail environment.
• Significant experience in print production, creative services, project management and digital workflow; strong technology-centric perspective.
• Proven track record of leading complex print and digital projects from concept to completion.
• Experience researching and staying current on graphic design and branding trends.
• In-depth knowledge of Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Mac OS X, HTML, Flash, digital workflow and AEM. Agility CMS experience a plus.
• Understanding of design and catalog layouts, graphic fundamentals, typography, web limitations and print / web design capabilities.
• Proven leadership ability in team building, mentoring and managing creative talent.
• Strong time management, multitasking, organizational and communication skills; ability to meet tight deadlines and make decisive judgments and evaluations.
Description
The VP, Creative Services is responsible for brand development, design, art direction and execution of all media including catalogs, website, digital, retail, B2B, wholesale and other promotional and advertising channels for Harry & David, Wolferman's, Stockyards and any future brands. The position collaborates with multiple Marketing, Merchandising and business teams to develop, communicate and execute the brand strategy. He/she is responsible for developing brand concepts, standards and seasonal style guides for the look, feel and tone through collaboration with Marketing and Merchandising as well as the consistent execution across all channels.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Partner with cross-functional teams to develop marketing/brand strategies and execute creative for marketing collateral and digital assets that result in achieving sales and profit goals.
• Responsible for development of creative brand positioning including logo treatment, visual aesthetics, copy and tone.
• Lead the ideation, presentation, refinement and execution of content creation for company channel and divisional campaigns that support the brand's strategic business goals and brand's overall image.
• Develop and coordinate consistency in graphic formats, images, typographical style and design imagery across all channels insuring consistency.
• Collaborate with marketing, merchandising and production to develop solutions that are cost efficient to produce, while accurately conveying the brand image and attributes of the product.
• Develop the digital creative strategy and deliver for the website, social, email, display and banner advertising, mobile, tablet, etc.
• Provide creative ideation and direction for all photo shoots, campaigns and creative executions.
• Develop and direct the Creative Services department; mentor, train and manage staff as appropriate.
• Present the brand creative strategy, campaign strategies and overall positioning to stakeholders.
• Ensure effective workflow processes that maximize productivity, ensure consistency and adhere to stringent budgets and timelines.
• Support the CMO in developing and managing the company's overall marketing and brand strategy.
• Maintain department priorities and thrive in deadline-driven environment.
• Lead creative projects and team members with a hands-on supervisory approach while facilitating a collaborative team environment.
• Manage, build and monitor the creative forecast and budget.
• Direct, mentor, coach and develop the creative staff.
• Other duties as assigned.
