The Learning & Development Director is responsible for the strategic vision and tactical execution of a training and development program that grows our people. The role has high impact and visibility, offering a unique opportunity to build and shape the growing organization from the ground level.
Responsibilities:
• Develop Learning Strategy and curriculum by partnering with leadership to build skills and develop the culture that aligns with our business objectives. Partner with Talent Management to understand gaps and needs from talent identification and personal development programs. Develop platforms that improve employee engagement by deepening skills and driving performance.
• Manage all aspects of training lifecycle, to include training needs assessment, development of new training programs, assessments, evaluation, marketing and communications of programs, budget and resource management, reporting and maintenance of training records, and vendor management.
• Establish approach for using in-house design, technologies and partners to ensure high quality learning solutions that drive skill development and practical application. Deliver key training sessions
• Partner with Talent Management team in design and implement leadership and high-potential development strategies that ensure we grow our leadership bench. Develop solutions for increasing managerial and leadership effectiveness in developing others, attracting and assessing talent, resource planning, and building effective teams/ culture.
• Determine appropriate curriculum for professional development that addresses performance gaps or skills needed to progress through MediaMath. In partnership with the HRBPs, support specific department initiatives (e.g., strategic selling and building product management skills) from both a training and change planning perspective.
• Work with departments to ensure appropriate technical training that promotes ongoing learning. Ensure all employees have appropriate technical certification per their role.
• Partner with Talent Management in defining the models and assessment tools standards for Mediamath. Determine effective utilization to drive development of common language and understanding of a few, key assessments.
• Oversee the scheduling, logistics, communications, sourcing content or 3rd party training provider, and tracking of participation. Implement and manage new tuition reimbursement program.
• Lead and manage the Learning team providing ongoing direction, guidance, performance feedback and growth.
This is not an exhaustive list of responsibilities. As part of our global technology team, you may be required to be work off-hours or be on-call on a rotating basis. Other duties may be assigned, as needed. MediaMath retains the right to change job duties at any time.
Qualifications:
Successful candidates will have the education and experience to bring a high level of integrity and intellect to the role, as well as professional and personal flexibility, combined with strong analytical and strategic problem solving skills. He/She is consultative, a strong collaborator, be results-oriented, driven, focused and able to balance multiple priorities and issues.
• 10 years L&D experience including experience in a high growth, tech or start up environment
• Demonstrated success in building a corporate learning and development strategy
• Able to create a framework for assessing, measuring and tracking L&D program success
• International experience and/or managing programs and people across multiple office locations
• Detailed and current knowledge of training tools and potential vendor partnerships
• Knowledgeable of adult learning theories and blended learning approaches. Experience with various learning modalities and technologies to accommodate a global workforce
• Strong vendor and project management skills
• Excellent facilitation and presentation skills. Strong verbal and written communications skills
• Able to lead a team
• Willing and able to travel as needed
• Certifications in 360 feedback instruments and behavioral style inventories a plus
• Must be a team player with the ability to work independently and be accountable for results
