DIRECTOR, ORGANIZATIONAL GROWTH AND DEVELOPMENT
Expedia Worldwide Engineering (EWE) is looking for a strategic, visionary leader who will head up the design and execution of our organizational development strategy. EWE’s Director of Organizational Growth and Development will lead a body of work that includes developing solutions around core technical and soft skills training, leadership capabilities, team building, employee engagement, communications, performance programs and other initiatives that support the ongoing development and performance of the organization.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
• Partner with and help guide a team of senior leaders and change agents responsible for global learning and organizational development initiatives that impact the day-to-day practices, engagement, and contribution of over 2,500 talented individuals
• As a key business partner, advise and drive on the range of learning and development methodologies and solutions that bring the most value to a fast-growing, tech organization during a time of dramatic scale
• Build a strategic framework that ties together learning, growth, and performance with a solid foundation of organizational and cultural health
• Champion and help lead ongoing Diversity and Inclusion efforts across all EWE
• Influence and establish an internal product organization by working closely with Global Product and ensuring adoption of lean, agile methods of development for internal product teams
• Bring key partners together to assess challenges and performance gaps, identify root causes and appropriate solutions, then design/develop/support and/or lead the implementation of those recommendations
• Help to establish organization wide processes and initiatives that create a positive work environment and employee engagement
• Influence and support changes in organizational behavior. Serve as an internal consultant to facilitate team building; resolve group conflict and changes in group strategy/directions/expectations
• Partner with HR and leaders to ensure fully integrated and enhanced organization initiatives
• Lead/support projects to improve business results through changes to processes, systems, structure and culture
• Lead the design, development and/or implementation of a wide variety of learning approaches/solutions to address specific organizational and/or development needs
• Provide support, mentoring, tools and interventions to Business Leaders to address key group/organizational issues or priorities
• Identify appropriate delivery approaches and resources accordingly to ensure successful and meaningful results
• Develop mechanisms for measuring impact of various initiatives as well as ongoing tracking, analysis and enhancements
• Conduct assessments and diagnostics to uncover trends and insights, identify causes of organizational/group issues and then implement/support recommendations/initiatives to address those issues

You are extraordinarily collaborative and inclusive in both understanding needs and delivering programs. Continually iterate on programs to evolve them over time for optimal productivity and engagement. Effective in scoping both near term and long range needs and solutions.
You will be highly skilled in eliciting involvement of Brand Expedia (BEX) business leaders and team members in learning activities so they contribute both design and delivery of our programs. You will maximize the impact of development programs by creating marketing and communication plans to effectively drive engagement, visibility, transparency, and adoption.
ADDITIONALLY, YOU WILL POSSESS:
• Master’s degree in Business, Organizational Development, Human Resources or other related field.
• Minimum of 5+ years of progressive Organizational Development and Leadership Development experience
• 10+ years experience in a high growth, technology organization, in particular, experience supporting Engineering and IT organizations
• The ability to understand key company level strategic objectives and recommend approaches and solutions to support the overall strategy
• Experience in assessing performance gaps, analyzing learning needs, designing and developing learning and performance solutions
• Understanding of adult learning theory, principles of communication and training delivery methods
• Demonstrated agility and experience working in a high-growth, rapidly changing environment
• A hands-on approach, roll-up-your-sleeves mentality and a keen sense for monitoring the "pulse" of the team to ensure a high level of employee engagement
• Intellectual curiosity, a deep growth mindset, and the desire to constantly improve
• Excellent facilitation and communications skills
• Strong business acumen, including problem solving skills and critical thinking
• Extraordinary presentation skills
• High degree of emotional intelligence.
• Strong conflict resolution skills
• Understanding of current development theories and how to successfully integrate them into learning solutions
• Demonstrated ability in designing and delivering inspiring and innovative on-boarding and leadership development experiences for employees that are scalable across the business
• Experience creating innovative and scalable on-boarding experiences
• Excellent communications, project management, and time management skills.
