Job Description and Responsibilities:
The Program Director manages a portfolio of strategic initiatives undertaken by teams across IT, Security and Business with GSO as the primary sponsor of the program. Responsible for process improvement, project coordination, planning, and execution, security, strategy/road mapping, and performance, the Program Director is the single point of accountability for program delivery and benefits realization.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
•Work with the leadership to define and implement programs and projects that address identified IT and security risks and fulfill business requirements
•Collaborate with track leads to develop budget projections based on short- and long-term goals and objectives
•Communicate roadmaps to achieve executive alignment and support
•Work with track leads to define metrics and reporting strategies that effectively communicate successes and progress of programs
•Ensure that there is a convergence of business, technical, and security requirements by working with the track leads and SMEs
•Build knowledge across departments to gather and understand varying perspectives on the program and its solutions people, process, and technology
•Act as a liaison with vendors and the legal and purchasing departments to establish mutually acceptable contracts and service-level agreements (SLA)
•Manage the portfolio of projects and provide guidance on matters for other projects
•Anticipate trends both in terms of process and technology
•Maintain awareness of best practices and competitive intelligence
•Design, coordinate, and oversee testing procedures to verify the operation and security of systems, networks, and applications
•Manage the remediation of identified risks
•Make recommendations to the Executive Steering Committee on key tradeoff, risk, and other critical decisions for the operation and security program, considering all perspectives
•Organize project teams based on resource estimates, determining the appropriate skills and roles needed
•Resolve resource, timing, or other conflicts between projects and groups
•Ensure that leaders and all stakeholders are kept informed of the status, accomplishments, upcoming activities as well as risks and issues.
•Develop, maintain, and communicate GSO key performance indicators (KPIs) and dashboards for the program
Requirements:
•More than 7 years of experience leading programs or projects that balanced a variety of perspectives and interests in a fast-moving environment
•Must be able to maintain a flexibility of work schedules to meet the needs of the business
•Must have experience project-managing some or all of the following types of projects: new site builds/remodels, security compliance and testing (ISO27001 / BCP / DR / SSO), network and telecom redesigns (WAN, LAN), and storage re architectures and migrations
•Experience with engineering tools and processes (JIRA, Bamboo, DevOps, release management, QA/testing, and Agile/Scrum)
•Experience handing vendor negotiations greater than $1M
