Senior Director of Education Initiatives

The Senior Director of Education Initiatives is a member of the senior management team, reporting to the Senior Vice President, Philanthropy & Engagement and providing the leadership and strategic vision for the Salesforce.org's education grantmaking programs. This person will be responsible for developing the grantmaking and partnership strategies that leverage our technology, resources and employee time to prepare our youth for jobs of tomorrow.
Primary Responsibilities
Grantmaking Management
Manages a global team of grantmakers, with both direct and indirect reports, to execute on our strategic vision; develops goals to achieve that vision and evaluates progress toward goals. Oversees multiple grantmaking programs that include grants to school districts, schools and nonprofits.
Opportunity Acceleration
Augments our grantmaking efforts through close partnership with employee engagement and technology leaders to deepen employee volunteerism as well as encourage adoption of our technology in schools.
Community Engagement
Represents Salesforce.org in public; fosters productive relationships with school districts, elected official, other funders and community leaders in order to understand community needs, facilitate community connections and develop strategic partnerships.
Assessment
Responsible for developing data-informed practices and programs, oversee measurement of programs and accurate and timely reporting of results.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's Degree required; graduate degree or advanced degree desirable
Experience: grantmaking professional with proven track record in managing education programs in partnership with schools and districts; minimum 10 years' experience
Skills: Effective manager and motivator; able to work with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders with grace and facility; excel in flawless execution in a fast-paced environment; superior writing and presentation skills; technology enthusiast with a data-driven mindset; excellent judgement with a team player attitude; demonstrated commitment to the community.
