The director new business development is responsible for the development of new business opportunities that exponentially expand brokerage sales by increasing lead generation through exclusive relationships and affiliations with lead entities such as Affinity groups, PEOs, Financial Advisors, Employer Groups, Unions, PBMs, Provider Groups and others. This role will focus on identifying and establishing these relationships in order to increase profitable brokerage sales of MA, Med Supp and ancillary cross sales. The director new business development will report to the chief sales officer and manage all aspects of the sales process including but not limited to; prospecting, contracting, proposal development, RFPs, pricing and rate negotiations, new business implementation and ongoing relationship management. The director new business development will coordinate all efforts of the sales process with the senior leadership team and the internal management team.
Description of accountabilities:
• Identify large lead generation opportunities that drive significant leads into the brokerage for the profitable sale of MA, Med Supp and ancillary products
• Manage all prospecting efforts including but not limited to; delivery of a detailed prospect management plan, regular weekly reporting on activity and results, accurate timely sales forecasting to finance, cold calling and prospect development
• Maintain ongoing relationship with lead generator partners in order to increase and/or maintain levels of monthly lead generation
• Develop and deliver proposals, implementation plans and leadership to maximize lead opportunity
• Facilitate contract development and execution, provide guidance on contract terms and requirements, obtain needed contract approvals and signatures, adhere to corporate contracting procedures
• Works closely with sales leadership and marketing team on value proposition, key messaging, development of marketing collateral and materials that drive ongoing lead generation
• Represents company and brand at conferences and with prospects, business partners, industry organizations, vendors, key constituents, and brokers as needed
• Facilitate renewals if needed on contracts that maintain or improve HPOne lead positioning
Required qualifications for this role
• Bachelor’s degree in business
• 5+ years of relevant experience
• Proven record of sales with C-suite personnel
• Excellent verbal and written communications
• Strong presentation skills and experience with proposal development
• Self-motivated, detail oriented and results driven
• Ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple priorities
• Flexibility to travel as needed
