The Senior Director’s primary responsibility is to lead Expedia Inc.'s high-growth domestic lodging business in the Mid-Atlantic and Southeast U.S. The Senior Director and his/her organization will build and expand Expedia group’s leadership position with key lodging partners in the region, manage day-to-day business operations and drive marketplace growth together with Expedia Inc. brands across 75 countries. As a key member of the North American Market Management Leadership team, s/he will also play an active role influencing the organization’s future and be responsible for strategic growth initiatives across North America.
Responsibilities
• Attract, lead, coach, engage and motivate a high-performing, high-growth organization of 100+ including Directors, Area Managers and Market Management staff
• Build and expand Expedia group's leadership position in the Mid-Atlantic and Southeast U.S.
• Develop a market-leading hotel business portfolio and strategic partner relationships leveraging leading Expedia technology, marketing, brands and distribution globally
• Ensure regional hotel products (content, rates and availability) are consistently competitive to maximize global customer demand, conversion and marketplace growth
• Continuously develop and grow engagement with Expedia’s full suite of technologies, market insights, marketing programs, merchandising opportunities and audiences
• Represent Expedia Inc. in the region, provide local technology/industry expertise and build Expedia’s company profile and relationships with press, partners and industry influencers (e.g. Ministries of Tourism, destination management associations, hotel partners, etc.)
• Contribute to and lead cross functional and global Expedia initiatives, influence product and business investments, champion change, continuous innovation/testing/learning
Required Skills and Experience
• Bachelor’s Degree; MBA or post-graduate degree strongly desired
• Experience building and growing technology, travel and/or hospitality businesses. Experience managing large sales teams preferred
• Extensive leadership experience including large teams and dynamic, fast-paced environments
