Hotels.com is looking for a talented Director, Product and Operations. In this role you will report directly to the Vice President of Acquisition Marketing and will be a member of the Acquisition Marketing (AM) Leadership team (AMLT). Hotels.com invests significantly in marketing via a variety of acquisition marketing channels (in particular paid search/SEM and travel meta search/Meta). You and the team will provide critical support across to the teams running each channel.
Your responsibilities:
You will be responsible for three main areas:
Acquisition Marketing Product
• Work collaboratively: Bring marketers and engineers together. Facilitate productive dialogue between these two parties in order to surface critical insights, strategies and opportunities.
• Strategy & Vision: Develop and lead the marketing automation strategy and vision (in partnership with marketing channel owners). Develop best approaches to marketing automation and work with internal stakeholders to build an ambitious but achievable vision.
• Product Roadmap & Planning: Turn vision and strategy into a detailed product plan to be executed in collaboration with the Hotels.com technology team. Share and constantly refine this plan based on changes in market landscape, technology or business need.
• Product Definition & Delivery: Lead a team of product managers responsible for business analysis, requirements definition and agile backlog. Work closely with our technology team to bring strategy and roadmap to life using agile development practices.
• Stakeholder Management: Work with marketing and technology teams to establish direction and bring plans to life. Provide as-needed updates to Hotels.com Leadership Team.
Marketing Operations
• Partner Integration and Management: Supporting channel teams with various technical aspects including setting up tracking codes and pixels, connecting to APIs, mapping new hotels to partner sites, identifying and resolving pricing errors, billing and accruals support, etc.
• API Management: Our channel teams use various APIs in conducting regular business and need support including initial setup and maintenance, active monitoring and management of what passes through various APIs. You will also drive enhancements to the APIs.
• Cross-team Project Management: The ops team lead a number of cross Acquisition Marketing (and even across Hotels.com or even Expedia Inc at times) initiatives. These are generally related to some of the more technical aspects of marketing operations and have included mobile, new property mapping in partners sites, and new property bidding set-up.
Landing Page Experience
• Competitor Monitoring: Monitor competitors to keep track of innovations around the industry.
• CVR Improvement: Handling the AM conversion testing backlog, including partnering with channel and Product teams to come up with, prioritize and test ideas to improve AM channel conversion.
• LP Monitoring: Ongoing monitoring of landing page experience across AM channels to ensure performance is maintained and any issues are spotted and resolved quickly.
Key Requirements
• Highly analytical and numerate. Comfortable synthesizing data to make robust decisions
• Excellent communication skills. Comfortable communicating across all levels of the organization
• Excellent influencing skills at all levels
• Good balance of strategic & operational mind-set. Able to keep focused on both long-term direction and short-term business needs
• Deep understanding of web and data technologies a plus
Desired Experience
• Experience in Data solution product management
• Product leader with a consistent track record of defining and delivering complex products in a fast-moving environment, particularly those tied directly to business impact/P&L
• Experienced in agile product management techniques
• Experience running large cross-functional projects with multiple stakeholder groups
• Line management experience
• Understanding of performance marketing, particularly CPC-based
• Experience with web analytics and marketing tracking methods
• Experience with website conversion optimization
