DESCRIPTION
Day One (D1) builds innovative, memorable, and effective brand advertising and design across dozens of Amazon’s products and services.
We are seeking a strategic and detail oriented Art Director to join our Brand Design team.
The Art Director will work either independently or in conjunction with the Associate Brand Design Director, Senior Creative Director or Associate Art Directors and Senior Copy Writer, evaluate design options, develop and push to find ‘Think Big Ideas’ based on user research, design strategy and the creative brief. You will develop straightforward design approaches to complex design challenges across packaging, brand development, corporate identity, mobile, digital and user experience design projects.
This position will be located in the Meguro office.
Art Director
Responsibilities
• Design breakthrough digital, social, and traditional advertising and brand experiences
• Participate in analyzing post-campaign metrics to set best practices and optimize advertising campaigns for brand awareness and conversion
• Support marketing teams with design and execution of branding creative
• Present creative work to internal stakeholders, marketing managers and senior management for review and approval
• Propose new ideas to improve branding, customer experience or visual presentation
• Develop and strengthen brand assets, including style and usage guides, and collaborate with the design community to ensure consistent use
• Participate and contribute in design critiques
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
• Love of design: must have passion for creative excellence, branding, packaging and visual communication.
• Excellent and current creative and design trend knowledge and skills (from branding identity and package design, digital, to time-based media)
• Strong in conceptual thinking and design development
• Strong communication skills
• Strong working knowledge of graphic design, print and digital media
• Strong organizational skills
• Can work well within large teams and independently
• Experience in Adobe Design Suite
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
You have 8 years or more of broad creative and management experience. You are a strategic thinker who understands how to solve client challenges via their brand. You are a team player who understands team interaction and the roles of team members. You perform well in a team environment and foster communication and cohesion between internal teams and functions. Evidence of creative solutions that supports project goals. You have a Bachelors or Masters degree in Graphic design, communication, design, fine arts, or a related field.
