Amazon Creative Services (ACS) is looking for an Art Director who is capable of producing compelling creative concepts, defining brand standards and stylistic guidelines, and delivering high quality, customer-focused creative end results for seasonal campaigns, promotional events and other marketing collateral for Amazon.co.jp property.
Amazon Creative Service is the internal creative agency setting design and brand direction for Amazon’s global online retail websites. This role is a great opportunity to work with a top creative team at Amazon and have your creative ideas and designs used daily by the millions of customers. The ideal candidate will be strong conceptual thinker who has the ability to develop on-brand creative strategy and concept, develop and maintain the highest design standards and act responsibly in their execution of these standards, as well strive to continuously innovate and improve. He/she will interact with the relevant business, development, project/program management groups and other designers and execute deliverables that are aligned with business objective and goals. This position requires expertise in building creative idea and design principals including typography, composition, scale, color theory, photography, visual merchandising and a deep understanding of how those principles work together. Knowledge on user experience, best web practices on cross platforms, business acumen will also greatly help this position to succeed. The ideal candidate should have problem-solving skills, organizational skills, and attention to details. The ability to manage multiple projects in fast paced environment and to communicate with key stakeholders is essential. He/she should be able to work great amount of autonomy yet be a team player working with other creative team members and cross-functional partners. Online portfolio is required.
Responsibilities
• From developing creative concept to realizing the concept as deliverable final creative products, including photography, web page layouts, colors and typography aligned with Amazon branding for various seasonal campaigns and promotional events on desktop, mobile and tablet.
• Creating style guides aligned with Amazon Global Style Guide or campaign specific creative concept and constantly improving them
• Fulfilling multiple project requests while simultaneously meeting tight deadlines
• Interface with business teams and implement creative solutions that translate business objectives and customers’ needs
• Continually evaluate and monitor to enhance the visual experience working with Sr. Art Director
·Support Sr. Art Director to understand and anticipate future business changes and challenges, and proactively develop and lead new creative strategy
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
• 5 years or plus experiences in a design environment and minimum 2-3 year experiences in web design including knowledge and experience on mobile design
• BA/BS in Design or equivalent field
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and other design software
• Online portfolio of professional work examples that shows strong expertise in art direction and design principles with refined aesthetic and sense of style, impeccable design and type sensibility
• Strong communication, presentation and interpersonal skills to communicate complex interactive creative concept clearly and persuasively
• Willingness and desire to re-examine what you know in order to continually challenge existing practices and your own creativity
• Ability to manage ambiguity, work autonomously and multi-task in an agile environment
• Ability to quickly turn around creative ideas and mockups for time sensitive circumstances
• Project management skills
• Native level Japanese and Fluent in English
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• E-commerce web design experience
• Business Acumen
• Knowledge and good understanding on UX principles
• On set photo shoot art direction is a plus
