Technical Program Manager Director

To support rapid organizational growth, Salesforce Commerce Cloud is seeking a Technical Program Manager Director to manage key programs within the engineering organization. The goal of the Program Management function is to enable the organization to achieve the highest levels of productivity, organizational alignment, and organized growth.
This role will be the organization's primary interface to Commerce Cloud's operational functions and will act as a Program/Project Manager for important initiatives within Engineering.
Reporting to the VP of Program Management, and dotted line to the SVP of Engineering to will work closely with the global direct line management on strategic and tactical initiatives in areas including project leadership, organizational alignment, budgeting, technology and collaboration tools, vendor selection and negotiation, engineering tools, and processes. The individual will also lead and participate in projects and activities related to release management, escalation management, security, compliance and audit. The individual's responsibility will extend to the broader organization including engineering teams in acquired companies where the individual will collaborate with the leadership of the acquired company to setup a consistent engineering operations structure and program. In addition, the individual may also need to participate in M&A activities related to organizational alignment and engineering operations.
Responsibilities
• Collaborate with the global engineering teams to facilitate product deliverables.
• Participate and lead activities and initiatives as needed within the Engineering group including release management, escalation management, security compliance, audit, M&A, as well as other engineering projects.
• Support visibility of projects, progress and challenges, within and outside the Engineering organization.
• Ensure data is collected to appropriately inform decision making for mitigating risks and resolving issues.
• Utilize an agile mindset to create a collaborative environment that fosters autonomy, transparency, mastery, innovation, and learning; promotes continuous improvement.
• Monitor and resolve end-to-end process for things like: repeating pain points/sticking points, blockers. Build plans and mitigations to address pain points to ensure the alacrity of the cloud and/or program.
• Partner with the global engineering leadership team on organizational alignment, team structure, onboarding, and leadership development to foster global collaboration across the organization.
• Responsible for coordinating with global IT on technology allocation, refresh, and migration.
• Work with the Employee Success team on engineering initiatives such as team events, personnel development, training, and coaching.
• Manage all procurement policies and processes for the engineering team.
• Manage operations expenses to budgeted levels and assist with overall engineering budgeting process.
• As part of the engineering team, will also take on additional global projects from time to time
Qualifications
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in a Project Management or Program Management role (ideally within an Engineering organization)
• BA/BS preferred; comparable experience required
• Strong track record of successful cross functional collaboration within a global organization
• Experience working within the software development lifecycle process
• Superior organizational and planning skills, excellent written/verbal presentation and listening skills, and the ability to present complex technical information in a clear, confident and concise manner to a variety of audiences, including non-technical
• Proven, solid decision-making processes in a fast-moving environment, balancing principles and data along with judgment and experience
• Demonstrated experience as a true self-starter that can quickly and independently assess business requirements and become a trusted and integral part of the leadership team.
• Ability to travel at least 25% of the time domestically and internationally
