Regional Sales Director (UK & Ireland) -Travel
Groupon Getaways is looking for a Regional Sales Director (UK & Ireland) to join the Groupon Getaways Business Development team. The position could be based in London
Reporting into the Business Development Director EMEA, you will be responsible for managing and motivating a national/cross national team of executives, consultants and senior consultants to proactively source and develop new business opportunities with hoteliers and lodging providers from within your region.
With a deep network of travel industry contacts you will be experienced in leading and motivating teams within the travel or flash sale environment.
What the role entails:
• Developing and executing team management strategies aimed at exceeding financial targets
• Setting clear goals and providing direction to the team
• Actively assisting and coaching your team in the sourcing, pitching and acquisition of properties and accommodation providers to feature on the Groupon Getaways platform and newsletters
• Ownership and accountability for the supply of quality merchants from your geographical area of responsibility
• Presenting Groupon as the unique distribution channel for hotel rooms, overnight stays and packaged travel
• Being a Groupon Getaways brand ambassador
• Reviewing processes with the Director of Business Development and identifying strategies for improvements across Groupon’s hotel portfolio
• Meet and over achieve on new business sales targets and KPIs
• Engage in hiring and learning/development
• Provide coaching and support to drive results on a daily basis
• Provide regular updates to the BDD on progress of the team
• Work with Category Management teams to optimise revenues, coverage and quality of features
• Assist Strategic Accounts team in chain and pan European wide contracting where necessary
• Ensure that your team works seamlessly with Account Managers to provide best in class support for our partners
• Engage with marketing and merchandising to ensure your team delivers a pipeline of relevant inventory to assist with campaigns and initiatives
• Analyse and benchmark team and deal performance to optimise and increase quality of product
• Roll out company processes and team initiatives and incentives
• Provide positive leadership through periods of change
• Engage in face to face sales meetings where necessary
• Excellent English,
• Availability to travel up to 25%
What we need from applicant:
• A minimum of 6 years as a B2B Sales Manager is required
• Have previously managed a sales team and sales KPI’s
• Proven experience in consistently over exceeding onset targets
• Proven track record in Hotel sales within an OTA, wholesaler or Flash deal background is beneficial
• exactly Experience in winning and managing key regional travel accounts is essential
• Strong working knowledge of hotel distribution technologies (direct connectivity, CRS, GDS, Channel Managers)
• Strong commercial awareness and high attention to detail
• Ability to coach, inspire and motivate

• Strategically and creatively think in a fast-paced changing environment
• Strong problem solver and ability to analyse KPIs and trends
• Ability to make effective decisions and cope with pressure
