The online travel market never stands still. We are the Expedia Affiliate Network (EAN), an entrepreneurial business unit operating in the B2B market inside the world's biggest online travel company. We build the tools and technology that help millions of travelers find the perfect hotels for their next trips, working with more than 2,000 partners in 33 countries to turn their web traffic into hotel bookings.
We work on multiple projects and business initiatives to support the continued profitable and sustainable growth of the EAN business. In this role, you will work closely with the other members of EAN’s Finance team, the wider EAN business and Expedia’s corporate finance functions (such as Accounting, Treasury, Tax and Audit Services). Do you want to know more about the role?
• You are the finance business partner to our product team at Executive level, focused on driving more commercial awareness and accountability into the product team
• You will be the finance leader responsible for key finance and business initiatives, ensuring these align to EAN’s strategic goals, have the appropriate business cases to support them (meeting acceptable investment criteria and clearly assess risks) and meet the requirements of EI’s corporate and control environments
• You will partner with EAN’s strategy team, supporting them with financial and commercial advice on strategic initiatives
• You are responsible for developing and maintaining EAN’s risk control framework performing continuous review to ensure controls remain relevant and adequately manage risk
• Continuously recommend and facilitate improvements to processes and systems to improve the controls environment
• Develop a reporting framework to ensure that all areas of financial risk are clearly communicated and understood, recommending and implementing risk mitigation strategies as appropriate
• Partner with EI’s Corporate Audit Team, as needed, ensuring audits are facilitated easily and any recommendations effectively implemented
Who are you?
• Qualified accountant with relevant experience as required in the role
• Great business partner and you have worked in dynamic and fast changing environments
• You are a successful leader and manager of projects/initiatives involving multiple teams
• Excellent in handling many conflicting tasks, and deliver against rapidly changing priorities
• You operate autonomously with positive attitude and work ethic
• People management and excellent communication skills are needed; you have experience in working with cross functional teams across multiple time zones and locations.
• Shown ability to analyze data to solve business problems and provide business insight
