MediaMath seeks a senior sales leader with a proven history of closing complex, high-value deals in a competitive, dynamic, and evolving marketing space.
As a Commercial Director at MediaMath, you will be responsible for closing a list of key prospects, working with pre-sales and marketing on new business strategy. Additionally, you will be required to sell in extended, multi-year roadmaps to new that address priorities and business goals.
Commercial Directors are the senior strategic leads on existing accounts and do remain engaged with the client after the business is closed. In close partnership with your partner Engagement Director, you will engage with senior technical, operational and executive-level contacts at the client, and be expected to establish, develop, and deepen the relationships that will allow our partnership to grow.
You must have encyclopedic knowledge of marketing and the advertising technology industry, and the ability to design synergistic solutions that leverage partners within and without the MediaMath OPEN ecosystem.
Responsibilities:
• Plan, direct, and coordinate sales activities for MediaMath- and self-sourced pipeline opportunities, including activation of key support teams to address client needs and win new business
• Identify opportunities for upsell to existing clients. Formulate business plans that center on value creation and articulate value propositions MediaMath can offer to the client’s business
• Partner with clients to design, iterate, and evolve joint, multi-year roadmaps that address client priorities and create value
• Ensure the retention of all key clients
• Serve as the strategic lead and point of escalation for clients in your book of business
• Work cross-functionally, activating key business units within MediaMath to ensure revenue goal achievement
• Lobby for product initiatives and data/technology/supply integrations that can contribute to the success of the clients in your book of business
• Effective tracking of all activity in Salesforce.
Qualifications:
• 7+ years of strategic sales experience, ideally in the in online/digital/display advertising industry in outbound sales (preferably ad serving, data, exchanges, SaaS, or SEM). Experience in other SaaS models with knowledge of digital advertising business may be acceptable
• Proven ability to establish meaningful relationships throughout all levels of client organizations with a track record of retaining key clients
• History of hitting and exceeding revenue goals
• Strong listening, negotiation, presentation, and communication skills. Personable, charismatic, and positive
• Encyclopedic knowledge of the online media business and technology landscape
• Effective time management skills – ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
• Diligent work ethic. Must be self-motivated and able to take the initiative to get the job done
