DESCRIPTION
Are you passionate around developing new and innovative processes that combine technology and finance? Have you delivered a leading edge technical risk management program, effected change and driven decisions that have enterprise-wide impacts? If so, Finance Technology’s Risk Intelligence team is the place for you. Risk Intelligence’s priority is to maintain the trust of our finance customers by providing high quality assurance around data confidentiality, integrity, and availability of platforms that process some of the world’s largest financial data sets in order to make informed, real-time decisions and enable Amazon’s growth to a trillion-dollar company.
The Finance Technology organization works with every part of Amazon to capture, compute, transact, and report their financial events. When a customer orders a banana slicer on Amazon.com in France, watches an episode of Mr. Robot on Prime Instant Video in the US, downloads an e-book on their Kindle from a beach in Brazil, or spins up a spot EC2 instance on AWS in China, they feed into a continuous petabyte-scale stream of global events moving through the company’s technology ecosystem. Finance Technology harness these data streams to completely, accurately, and validly pay Amazon’s suppliers, bill our customers, enable financial analysis and planning, and to report our financial results at many different levels of aggregation to internal and external customers.
This role operates in a fast-paced, global, results-oriented environment and you will be a key member of the senior Finance Technology leadership team. You will be responsible for leading, managing, and developing the team, which is comprised of high performing risk professionals that support the multi-faceted capabilities of our global platform technology teams.
The Risk Intelligence team supports Finance Technology and its organizational goals to enhance and ensure controllership by self-auditing the systems it owns and guides technology teams to mitigate any risks identified. The team has processes that continuously inspects and evaluates the overall effectiveness of the applications and processes owned by Finance Technology. The Risk Intelligence team is on the front lines to advise, educate and develop our technology teams on how to identify and mitigate risk exposures, enhance and develop control improvements, and further build prevention and detection controls. The team’s focus areas include continuous inspection and monitoring, fraud prevention and detection, intelligence product development, and risk program development.
To succeed, you must have relentless commitment to quality and high standards, demonstrated experience in raising the bar at a team and company level, and a background in risk and control frameworks with a finance and/or technology area. A successful candidate must have a demonstrated ability to advise and influence the decisions of senior business leaders through effective verbal and written communication. You will demonstrate strong leadership as you control your own destiny in Amazon's ownership oriented culture.
