Creative Director, Voice Shopping

You will work closely with marketing and product management to take ideas from initial concepts to launch. You must be responsive, flexible, and willing to take a stand on behalf of the customer to produce simple, elegant, compelling experiences. You think first from the customer’s perspective and set relentlessly high standards for yourself and your team in developing best-in-class visual assets.
VANS is seeking a talented, customer-obsessed, Creative Director to create compelling advertising and engagement experiences in support of Voice Shopping across a wide range of platforms including Alexa-enabled devices, mobile devices and the web. The ideal candidate will combine the ability to create exceptional visual design executions under tight deadlines and to creative specifications.
Your primary focus will be to design and develop visually compelling and beautiful advertising creative for online media across diverse applications. You will also deliver voice experiences in the form of editorial content. You must be able to handle high-volume content production in a fast-paced environment. Organization and prioritization skills are essential. You will work closely with our marketing team to create and bring ideas to life to help drive new business for Voice Shopping.
Responsibilities
• Design beautiful and engaging advertising creative and voice shopping editorial content in support of marketing and customer engagement initiatives
• Create on-brand design solutions that meet measurable business goals and requirements
• Create world-class customer experiences and beautiful visuals that support and reinforce Voice Shopping’s vision, brand, and business objectives across all platforms
• Create style guides and design pattern libraries in support of our brand, cross-platform experiences and merchandising
• Support the design team by producing, managing and uploading graphic assets
• Maintain an organized library of source files and assets
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
• Self-starter who is a customer-obsessed, detail-oriented, and enthusiastic team player. Willingness to roll up your sleeves and do whatever is necessary to deliver results; owner mentality.
• 10+ years of industry experience; 3+ of those in a management role
• For consideration: Must submit an online portfolio or design samples demonstrating strong visual design skills and experience relevant to the role. Preferred samples include advertising, branding, and product/service promotional design work
• Experience designing for web and mobile
• Experience designing static, animated and dynamic ad units
• Knowledge of marketing fundamentals and ability to implement them to create dynamic advertising solutions
• Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and meet tight deadlines
• Ability to work cross-team and synthesize feedback and input from marketing, product management and development teams
• Ability to work with highly technical teams and handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
• Exceptional attention to detail and customer focus
• Proficiency in a variety of design tools such as Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and Sketch
• Contribute to and define the team’s best practices for design.
• Use humor, creativity, and positive energy to maintain personal and team momentum.
• Bachelor degree in design or equivalent professional experience required
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Team player with refined and assertive leadership skills – ability to positively influence change through inspirational design, solid rationale, supporting data and diplomacy
• Knowledge of information architecture, usability, and UI Design
• Illustration, prototyping and/or multimedia skills
• Understanding of HTML, CSS and basic technical considerations
