The Crucible team is looking for an Audio Director to provide strong vision and direction for the game’s audio and music. You will be responsible for the quality and consistency of audio in the game. You will be an expert in all areas of sound and music, including audio direction, music supervision, mix, sound effects, ambience, foley, sound implementation and voice over production. You will create sound effects for the game, interfacing with outsourcers to provide additional content when necessary.
Responsibilities
• Develop and build a world class audio department
• Provide strong vision and direction for the audio in the game
• Shape studio culture, emphasizing principles of open collaboration and unwavering commitment to quality
• Design and produce sound effects, produce music, and produce VO sessions
• Select and supervise external sound designers and composers
• Create systems design plans and drive feature requests with engineers
• Manage the audio programmer’s task backlog
• Drive the game’s schedule with the team’s directors and producers
• Contribute directly to the game’s overall design
• Guide outsourcing agreements through the Amazon approval process
Assist in creation of test plans for QA
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
• 10+ years of experience in audio for AAA games
• Shipped a 2+ games as an audio lead or director
• Proven ability to lead and grow team
• Experience with the entire audio process, including sound effects, voice over, music, sound implementation and audio technology
• Experience managing vendors and setting up budgets and schedules with outside resources
• A passion for video games and the role that audio plays in player experience
• Past experience providing technical direction for the audio team
• Expertise with Wwise
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Multi player experience a plus
• Scripting experience in Lua
• Experience with PC SKUs
• Ability to visually parse XML
• Experience with visual scripting editors
• Experience with world and animation markup
• Experience with Lumberyard game engine
• Experience interacting with and responding to the feedback of a large and passionate community of players
• Experience improving and optimizing proprietary pipelines and integration processes
