Purpose Of The Job:
This position is responsible for all aspects of supply chain management which includes planning and execution activities associated with business processes, systems development and utilization, cost estimating, source selection and contracting, strategic partnering, supplier relationship management, compliance/governance and program execution. This role will also assist with overseeing the Forward Logistics, Reverse Logistics and 3PL functions for the organization.
Responsibilities/Duties:
• Ensures effective supply chain management systems and processes are developed, implemented and continually improved
• Establishes, develops and maintains long term relationships with existing customers and new suppliers to ensure adequate capacity, enforce quality standards and exceed cost and inventory objectives
• Provides for selection, training, development, succession and performance evaluations of supply chain management team members
• Achieves supply chain savings by optimizing current processes to reach and maintain operational excellence
• Works closely with site leadership and teams to improve business performance in supply chain management and related areas
• Supports customers in a timely and professional manner
• Leads in the selection, evaluation and management of suppliers
• Determines and publishes supply chain key metrics
• Ensures processes for supply chain management result in the highest level of internal and external customer satisfaction
• Investigates current supply chain trends and solutions and implements where appropriate
• Manages key external and internal supply chain elements supporting inventory management goals
• Other duties as assigned by management
Minimum Requirements & Special Attributes:
• BS degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or related field required. MBA preferred
• APICS certification is a plus
• 10+ years total work experience in supply chain management including experience in leadership role, commodity management and supplier development desirable
• Strong analytical, communication, interpersonal, written and verbal skills
• Must understand integrated supply chain and logistic concepts
• Must be knowledgeable in planning and forecasting systems
• Proficient in Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
• Negotiation skills
• SAP warehousing, transportation and logistics experience critical to the position
Essential Mental and Physical Functions:
• Sitting for extended periods is common.
• Regular use of the telephone and company e-mail for company communication is essential.
• May travel to visit external vendors or suppliers as needed.
• No heavy lifting is expected.
Equipment Used:
General office equipment.
Work Environment:
• Job is performed indoors in a traditional office setting.
• May at times conduct business in the warehouse environment
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Will supervise management staff from Forward Logistics, Reverse Logistics and 3PL teams.
Language Skills:
Must be able to read, write, speak and comprehend English.
Travel Requirements:
Occasional travel as assigned.
