As a Director of Finance, for Expedia’s Corporate Finance team, you will play a critical role in delivering high quality financial reporting, forecasting and strategic insight to the business. You will support and collaborate with the Investor Relations and Accounting teams to prepare Expedia’s CFO and CEO for the quarterly earnings cycle. You’ll also engage across the EI portfolio of brands to create and distribute a robust suite of insightful and timely financial reports, fostering transparency in performance, and enabling holistic decision making. Reporting to the Sr Director of Corporate Finance, this role will be responsible for managing a small team of finance professionals, and will work closely with the CFO of Expedia, Inc., the head of Investor Relations, and Finance leaders from our global Brands.
Key Areas of Responsibility:
• Lead the preparation of weekly, monthly and quarterly results reporting packages, as well as quarterly forecast reporting packages, including specific monthly and quarterly analyses of centrally driven financial items such as merchant fees, FX rates, and Breakage.
• Support Expedia, Inc.’s Investor Relations in preparation of the company’s quarterly earnings calls with investors. Participate in the preparation meetings with the company’s CFO and CEO.
• Foster best-in-class communication and collaboration with Brand finance teams to ensure alignment of EI’s financial planning deliverables and company-wide financial analyses.
• Constantly drive for improved visibility into the company’s performance via insightful management reporting and analysis. Optimize both the quantity and the quality of financial reporting on an ongoing basis, always looking for opportunities for tool enhancement and automation.
• Lead topical ad-hoc analyses and deep dives into novel issues to improve the collective understanding of risks and opportunities related to these issues.
• Attract and develop talent, and act as a coach for team members, providing constructive feedback to help employees improve their skills set and advance their career.
Requirements / Qualifications:
• BA in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Mathematics or related degree.
• Relevant graduate degrees, MBA, or CA/CPA designations are desired
• At least 10 years of relevant industry experience managing reporting, providing analysis and insights to leadership teams in a fast paced entrepreneurial environment, ideally in an FP&A role
• Proven track record as a leader of small to medium-sized teams of finance professionals
• Excellent analytical, communication, presentation, and influencing skills, written and oral
• Ability to multi-task and deliver under pressure
• Strong business acumen and interest for business process improvement
• In-depth experience with our suite of financial systems and tools: Oracle ERP; Hyperion Planning/Essbase; MS Office; BI tools a plus.
