DESCRIPTION
Do you want to apply machine learning to a completely new field for Amazon? Our team is launching a new ambitious project with a heavy dose of machine learning, natural language processing, and advanced healthcare Research. You will be responsible for designing and implementing machine learning techniques such as classification, clustering and recommendation systems, etc. Datasets will include customer data as well as publicly available information, government data and scientific literature. The application area is outside anything Amazon is currently involved and our goal is nothing less than making people's lives better!

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, computer engineering or related field.
• 10+ years professional experience in software development.
• Experience in Healthcare IT/Healthcare analytics.
• Strong sense of ownership, urgency and drive
• Demonstrated ability to achieve stretch goals in a highly innovative and fast paced environment.
• Computer Science fundamentals in object-oriented design, data structures, algorithm design, problem solving, and complexity analysis.
• Strong proficiency Java and/or C++, Python.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Experience with Amazon machine learning tools such as EML, MxNet
• Experience building complex software systems that have been successfully delivered to customers.
• Experience in building large scale distributed systems and familiarity with distributed frameworks like MPI, MapReduce, Spark.
• Knowledge of professional software engineering practices & best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
• Familiar with electronic medical records (EMR), clinical classification systems and standard (HL7, ICD, SNOMED, CPT)
