Overview:
The Regional Director of Security and Loss Prevention provides the related physical security and loss prevention support and oversight for Amazon’s Fulfillment Centers, Customer Service Centers, and Transportation/Logistics/Delivery Network throughout the Asia Pacific region. The Director is responsible for ensuring that required corporate policies are implemented and that an ongoing assessment of operating risks accompanied by appropriate mitigation strategies to sustain business operations is conducted. This individual provides assistance and training to the local loss prevention teams to address specific loss issues and will drive results by forging strong business relationships and working in a team environment to achieve positive improvement in existing loss metrics. This position may be based at Amazon’s corporate offices in Tokyo, Beijing, Shanghai, Singapore, or Sydney and will report to the Chief Security Officer, Worldwide Operations.
As the security and loss prevention Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the region, this individual is expected to create and establish operating practices, and verify compliance with security procedures, physical security design standards and policies, and ensure that all comply with both our Physical Security and InfoSec policies while optimizing the effectiveness and efficiency of security at our facilities. This includes leveraging technology and systems to create processes and support systems that are sustainable and scalable. These systems and processes should enable the local and regional security and site managers to draw services in an automated fashion whenever possible.
The Director should have the following competencies:
• Drafting Scopes of Work, Project Bidding Packages, and Project Budgets.
• Completing and/or coordinating the final Test and Acceptance of site security systems that leverage our global access control system.
• Identifying and prequalifying security integrators throughout the region.
• Managing information from reporting tools to determine critical LP priorities for the assigned span of control and providing senior leadership with objective, accurate, and timely analysis of trends.
• Implementing loss prevention and shrinkage control programs to protect assets from loss due to internal/external theft and operational compliance issues.
• Developing and implementing policies, procedures, standards, training, and methods for identifying and protecting information, personnel, property, facilities, operations, or material from unauthorized disclosure, misuse, theft, assault, vandalism, product tampering, espionage, sabotage, or loss. Creating strategic programs designed to enhance loss mitigation efforts.
• Working with internal customers to establish, provide and agree on clear goals, objectives, and performance delivery outcomes and timelines.
• Supervising the use of vendors for guard and investigative functions at multiple site locations.
• Managing timely, ethical, and professional investigations into potential internal theft incidents.
• Maintaining effective professional liaison with law enforcement officials to ensure appropriate coordination of investigations and/or prosecutions.
• Coordinating with various support teams such as the Security Integration Group, IT Security, Network Engineering, and Corporate Systems teams.
• Supporting and participating in Lean Six Sigma activities throughout the company.

The successful candidate will utilize their security expertise and management strength to drive results and leverage the necessary technical support Amazon and third party technical experts will provide. He/she will support internal customers in the development of the actions needed to resolve identified issues and mitigate risks including the identification of certified contractors that can resolve issues with the physical security systems. In addition, he/she will consistently utilize the Amazon version of the Toyota Production System called the Amazon Customer Excellence System (ACES) and apply its concepts including Lean Six Sigma and Kaizen so that system and related process waste is eliminated.
The Director will ensure the effective use of resources (manpower, hardware, and software), metrics, and communication tools to provide our leadership, internal and external auditors, and shareholders with a high level of confidence in and support of your department. This is ultimately validated by their positive rating of your department’s service levels, their communication that your department adds value, and their authorization of the investments (capital, labor, and software) required by your team to be successful.
Basic Qualifications:
• 10+ years of experience in one or all of the following disciplines: corporate security management, asset protection, supply chain security, guard force utilization, and investigations.
• 10+ years as a security manager in a multi-location global corporate environment.
• 5+ years of experience in customer service driven environment.
• 5+ years of experience conducting workplace investigations.
• 5+ years leading loss prevention and inventory shrink reduction efforts.
• BS degree (or higher) in security or related field.
• Experience as a security leader for large, complex operating locations is a must.
• Proficiency in all Microsoft office applications.
• Ability to travel 40-50% of the time.
Preferred Qualifications:
• MBA or Master's in a related field.
• Customer-focused and results-oriented leader that possesses strong influencing skills and is comfortable working in a fast-paced and multi-tasking environment.
• Analytical leader experienced in performance-based, action- and results-oriented management, strong project manager and effective problem-solver.
• CPP, PSP or CFE Certification.
• Experience in working with access control systems.
• Lean Six Sigma and/or Green/Black Belt Certified.
