This role is central to GoDaddy fulfilling our mission. The risk/fraud product leader drives innovation in how GoDaddy assesses risk and detects fraud through analysis of data about people, devices, payment instruments, account history and transactions. Engaged closely with senior staff in Accounting, Finance, Payments and the various GoDaddy product teams, this role oversees (and creates) systems that minimize financial loss and protect buyers and sellers on the GoDaddy platform. This involves envisioning, building and tuning heuristics and classifiers that operate on thousands of variables, as well as the analysis and reporting tools used by fraud and risk personnel.
Success involves developing a deep understanding of GoDaddy customers, setting a platform/product development strategy to delight them and collaborating with engineering, design and business peers to plan and deliver. The selected candidate will share customer-satisfaction, loss prevention and revenue goals, and be a crucial partner in realizing GoDaddy’s mission.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Champion the needs of customers for fraud/risk management scenarios internally and externally
• Unify the strategy and platform for the various fraud and risk management groups in the company
• Own the fraud/risk management company roadmap; define and prioritize scenarios for development
• Collaborate directly with multiple product development teams for efficient, cohesive delivery of risk and fraud management capabilities
• Lead the company in aggregating an expanding set of data on which fraud and risk algorithms may operate
• Build world-class capabilities, including new methods for employing machine learning and statistical analysis to detect fraud and assess risk, that increase GoDaddy’s reputation as an innovator in this area
• Win internal support, from peer teams and executives, for product/platform roadmaps; collaborate closely with partner teams in CIO, Finance, Marketing, Sales, Support, Payments organizations; evangelize team contributions across the company
REQUIREMENTS:
• 10+ years of product development experience, including significant, hands-on exposure to fraud and risk scenarios
• Demonstrated ability to build, coach and lead successful product teams in an agile development environment, including previous experience delivering platform services and tools
• Conversant in current data engineering, machine learning and web services technologies/architecture
• Passion for data-driven continuous improvement of products and processes
• Enjoys leading change in cross-boundary roles
• MS in Computer Science or a related field preferred
• Ideally, experience leading fraud detection systems/product work in an organization handling significant revenue
