Overview
The Americas Marketing team is responsible for driving demand towards new and existing customers while accelerating the growth of Akamai’s product portfolio aimed towards key initiatives such as cyber security, mobile adoption and cloud services. The team is responsible for driving industry targeted campaigns and marketing programs within the United States including eCommerce, Financial Services, Public Sector, Healthcare and Manufacturing. It is also responsible for building demand in Canada and developing new strategies and tactics which will capture the emerging opportunities within LATAM region. This position will report directly to the VP Marketing and is a critical member of the leadership team.
Responsibilities:
• Leader of the Americas Marketing team responsible for creating a comprehensive marketing strategy to support the go-to-market strategy for the region, driving brand and product awareness and demonstrating increased marketing contributions to pipeline and revenue.
• Manage a team responsible for executing all marketing programs in the region required to reach customers and prospects including content syndication, events, webinars and overall responsibility for balancing proper investment levels between digital and traditional channels.
• Execute programs on-time and on-budget while using data analytics towards optimizing ROI for all marketing investments through learning and continuous improvement. Ownership and accountability for all Marketing KPI’s associated with the Americas territory.
• Work across marketing, product, and sales functions to develop compelling offers and promotions, while being able to respond to compelling events and emerging trends with a sense of urgency.
• Willingness to travel and be directly involved with the leadership teams in all regions and industries.
Applicants must meet one of the following education and experience requirements:
• 15 years of relevant experience and a Bachelor’s degree in technical, or marketing discipline or its equivalent or
• 12 years of relevant experience and a Master’s degree or
• 10 years of relevant experience and a PhD
Basic Qualifications:
• Education: Bachelor’s degree, technical or marketing discipline preferred, MBA highly desirable
• Minimum 12 years of professional experience in B2B high-tech marketing function
• Minimum 6 years of experience developing strategies for go-to-market within specific verticals
Desired Qualifications:
• Proved track record, with quantifiable attribution to marketing, towards defining and driving marketing plans for new and existing customers within a high-tech organization.
• Experience with the latest techniques and technology related to marketing automation and account based marketing.
• Ability to blend integrated marketing campaigns with a blend of digital and traditional programs.
• A solid understanding of B2B marketing for technical solutions aimed at F2000 industries.
• Strong interpersonal and communications skills along with proven ability to manage and develop an exceptional team.
• Proven use of marketing analytics to continuously refine and optimize ROI of marketing investments.
• Understanding of cybersecurity, mobile adoption, cloud computing and web performance technology areas a strong plus.
