DESCRIPTION
Amazon is all in on games.
2016 was a year of firsts for gaming at Amazon. In February, we released Lumberyard, a free, cloud connected game engine. At TwitchCon 2016 we revealed some of our new projects to the world, including three new games: Breakaway, New World and Crucible. 2017 will be another year of growth for us: what milestones will you be a part of?
We believe the evolution that began with arcade communities, growing to the live streams and esports of today, will continue to a future where everyone is a gamer and every gamer can create, compete, collaborate and connect with others at massive scales. If you share our belief that games will produce some of the future’s most influential voices in media and art, come join us. At Amazon, you’ll have the power of Amazon.com, Twitch, Curse and our digital and physical media publishing infrastructure available as raw material to forge a future filled with amazing experiences for players, broadcasters and creators.
Amazon Game Studios is seeking a talented Live Streaming Technical Director for our Seattle office to lead the creation of a new live streaming broadcast team.
As technical director of our live streaming studio you’ll work with the Seattle game teams, Twitch, Lumberyard game engine, Twitch Prime and the Amazon App Store to create broadcast content. You’ll level up the definition of delivering great engagement and exceptional customer relations by providing a live streamed experience showcasing the people and products of Amazon Game Studios.
As technical director you will need a deep knowledge of the equipment and technologies required to operate an industry leading live streaming studio. Starting out, you will help oversee the construction and design of the studio location from concept through completed project. During this period you will work to acquire and setup all of the equipment needed to operate the final broadcast studio location. You’ll also work with teams currently live streaming and act as technical director, operating the streaming equipment for their content from temporary locations until studio construction has been completed.
As the studio location nears completion you will be a part of the hiring team for engineering specific positions for the broadcast studio. Once hired you will oversee the growth and careers of the engineering staff members in the streaming studio and video operations team to create a team of talented people capable of creating the vision of the studios program director.
Once construction has completed, you will have full responsibility for operating and maintaining our in-house streaming studio and video content operations. You will own all technical aspects of production, ensuring picture, sound and lighting quality to meet or exceed applicable commercial standards in the broadcast/recording industries. You will be responsible for maintaining and updating the equipment in the studio after it has opened, determining new technologies required and always staying ahead of industry trends in live streaming technology.
