ABOUT THE JOB
The Senior Sales Director will manage a team of 6-8 Account Executives, and be responsible for leading, developing, and executing strategies to grow revenues in new/existing accounts and select target markets. He/she will be measured through a revenue target. The Senior Sales Director will be in collaboration across the other lines of business.
Essential Job Functions
• Managing and supporting the team to develop and execute sales strategies to profitably grow revenues within existing accounts and expand the account base in target markets.
• Ensure healthy make-up of deals from a Software AG perspective, including the maximization of standard rate maintenance combined with new revenue.
• Effectively and accurately managing forecasting and pipeline reporting related to revenue, and specific accuracy around timelines for forecasting.
• Performance manage, lead, coach and mentor Account Executives with a hands-on, team-oriented approach.
• Working with marketing, product management, pre-sales, and professional services teams to maximize opportunities and foster cohesive sales strategies.
• Developing executive level relationships with clients and partners to advance individual opportunities and client relationships.
• Pursuing and closing opportunities with Enterprise (and/or Government) customers.
• Building teams and motivating staff to exceed goals.
• Adopt the appropriate sales methodology to coaching (namely with Account Executives), and coach on best practice use of Business Cases, Deal Scorecard, and Political Mapping tools.

• Is target and success oriented. A number of years prior experience selling software based solutions, specifically into targeted new name accounts.
• Extensive experience in successfully managing a sales team within the enterprise solutions industry.
• Has a successful track record in the Software Industry, has proven experience developing C-Level relationships, and is a hands-on “player”.
• Demonstrable success in meeting and exceeding quota and have achieved premium sales "club" recognition.
• Has (or takes) an action and results-oriented approach which balances a "take charge" attitude with teamwork and collaboration. Demonstrates an ability to work with prospects to develop strong business solution cases coupled with solid closing skills.
• Experience in teaming with Systems Integrators is also required. Background includes having established and executed call plans, orchestrated account-planning sessions and effectively executed account strategies.
• Basic understanding of BPMS, SOA, B2B, EAI Technology, marketplace and technical concepts.
• Demonstrated leadership ability and ability to think and act strategically.
• Proven ability to lead a cross functional team and lead through influence.
• Demonstrated understanding of market disciplines, competitive landscape and current technologies.
Education
• BA/BS degree or equivalent and familiarity with internet technologies.
