The Salesforce Developer Relations team is looking for an results-oriented leader to direct the development of developer.salesforce.com, the digital home where developers discover and interact with new technologies using cutting edge tools, get support, and create relationships.
This is a technical management role but you will get to work closely with marketers, developer evangelists, program managers, and product managers to ensure we deliver the best experience for our passionate community of developers.
Key responsibilities
• Manage a team of architects, developers, and QEs.
• Work closely with Product Owners to plan and execute development iterations, ensure that teams have appropriate product and technical specifications, direction, and resources to deliver products effectively by establishing realistic estimates for timelines while ensuring that sprint commitments are met
• Communicate cross-functionally and drive engineering efforts
• Provide technology direction to ensure an agile, scalable and trusted technology stack.
• Coordinate release and sprint planning including daily scrum meeting, grooming sessions, sprint reviews, and retrospectives
• Help developers resolve technical problems
• Define escalation protocols for risk mitigation
Requirements
• 7+ years of prior manager level engineering function
• Has lead development of a medium-scale to large-scale website
• Thrives in a fast-paced environment with multiple simultaneous projects
• Experience with Scrum methodology and Agile practices
• Ability to effectively articulate technical challenges and solutions
• Excellent communication skills is a must
• Understanding of Ruby-on-Rails, Heroku and Force.com development is a bonus.
