About the The Director, Sales Strategy & Operations professional will play a crucial role in supporting the explosive growth of Salesforce products. This role is hybrid of traditional jobs in strategic planning, sales operations and analysis - requiring a mix of performance analysis, sales optimization and business operational support.
This role is part of a high-performance team comprised largely of former management consultants. Success in this role means assisting the Head of Market Readiness to drive the continued success of Salesforce by supporting our sales enablement effort. Sample projects range from the strategic to the very operational including evaluating models to provide enablement worldwide in a scalable way, supporting the creation of a "Model AE" capability model, assessing the effectiveness of sales enablement, and regular review of key performance metrics.
Deliverables include detailed analytic models, custom performance analysis, building a scalable reporting infrastructure, and packaging findings into presentation-ready content for Salesforce executives. The role requires interaction with various areas of the organization and provides exposure to senior executives.
The successful candidate will have relentless curiosity and possess a passion for creating innovative analysis to identify opportunities. Moreover, this person will excel at extracting insights from data and converting ideas to action.
Responsibilities:
• Lead ongoing analysis of business performance to support daily operations
• Design and interpret key performance metrics. Deliver insights & recommendations to senior sales executives
• Manage a team of sales strategy analysts and/or managers to support a sales leader's business end to end
• Partner closely with peers and cross-organization colleagues to lead initiatives, get buy in and ensure action and adoption
• Build an expansive internal network to bring all possible expertise and resources to bear on your projects. It is through these relationships, and the knowledge that they bring, that our sales strategy will be impactful
• Perform thorough analysis to support any recommendation you make, working with existing analytical resources and doing a fair amount of heavy lifting yourself
• Sell your recommendations to executive management through exceptional presentation, tangible quantitative explanation, and mastery of qualitative factors that complement the numbers
• Lead the annual sales readiness program (Go For Growth) for Market Readiness to ensure a successful start to the new fiscal year
Desired Skills/Experience:
• 5+ years of experience focused on quantitative analysis, Excel, and logical reasoning
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited university.
• Self-starter and high degree of motivation to go above and beyond the task at hand
• Exceptional cross-functional leadership skills
• Strong analytical and hypothesis-based problem solving skills
• Able to communicate clearly, effectively to senior executives. Diplomatic and discrete thought partner to sales leaders
• Strong presentation skills, especially related to building compelling PowerPoint presentations
• Excellent project and time management skills
• Creativity and strategic thinking - and the agility necessary to master both the daily hands-on analysis and the big picture strategy
• Familiarity with marketing and sales of enterprise software
• Work experience in consulting, finance, or product management is a plus
• Experience with SQL, Tableau, and/or Business Objects (or similar analytical packages) a plus
