DESCRIPTION
You are a hands-on Art Director who has proven your ability to motivate those around you with your vision and dedication to brand and packaging excellence. You have successfully demonstrated taking business goals and turning them into inspiring world-class packaging and brand designs. You understand the complexity of packaging systems and know how to set the visual standard for scalable categories in various global markets. You are a fearless design leader – someone who can inspire and lead designers globally. We are the Private Labels team and we are on a journey to create world-class products in a variety of categories to compete and win with national leading brands. We are responsible for inventing and commercialize products in all aspects and believe that branding and packaging are critical components for the success of our portfolio of products.
Responsibilities
• Develop and strengthen brand assets, including style and usage guides, finalized to broad packaging systems in multiple and diverse categories.
• Enhance the team knowledge of best design practices and trends in packaging and graphic design
• Work with Brand Managers, CI team, Marketing team and Content Managers to provide end-to-end visual creative support.
• Work with the Director of Design to constantly raise the bar for quality and excellence in creative design
• Present and rationalize the work to executive managers
• Understand and respond to testing metrics and performance data to define or adjust the direction of creative designs
• Work with Director of Design to manage day-to-day relationship with outside agencies on creative projects
• Attend photo shoots
• Maintain a clear view on design trends and packaging innovation by way of attending design/food shows and conferences, reading design blogs, be an active participant in the Amazon design community
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
• An online portfolio or samples of work demonstrating visual branding, packaging systems, and photo art direction
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in brand and packaging design
• The ability to create digital and/or physical mockups
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills and the ability to gracefully defend your design decisions to executive management
• Proficiency in a variety of design tools such as Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign
• An expert understanding of the trends in packaging and brand visual systems
• Bachelor's degree in design or equivalent professional experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• In-house design experience in a leading role is highly preferred
• Experience defining or maintaining a design style guide or branding guidelines
• Art direction and experience setting up photo shoots
• Experience in recruiting creative talents
• Experience in working with premium and global brands
