The Director of Developer Marketing will own the strategy and execution of winning the hearts and minds of new and existing developers for Akamai. You will help build and manage the team that will engage developers with thoughtful messaging, rich content, and timely communication. Whether it’s web, social, or email, you will develop and own all the channels to deliver updates and offers that drive awareness of our activities and adoption of our technologies. To be successful, you are the developer’s best friend and champion all the things that they love. You will work closely with developer evangelists, developer programs, and product managers to bring the content and resources to market. Additionally, you will be the leading advocate for providing developer feedback to the product teams.
As a leader of the Developer Marketing team, the role will include:
Develop core messaging and positioning for developer audience
Develop tone and style guidelines
Operate our first party sites including https://community.akamai.com/community/developer/content
Manage internal and external contributing author relationships
Support PR & manage relationships with third party publishers
Manage social channel activities
Lead SEO initiative
Maintain marketing metrics
Manage developer previews and launches requirements
Provide feedback to the product team
Required Qualifications
Education: BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent.
Minimum 5 years of developer marketing or evangelism experience
Proven track record with running developer campaigns
Familiarity with open source community
Have lead development of a medium-scale to large-scale website
Desired Qualifications

Software development background
Successful marketing automation implementation
