Director, Product Management
The Director of Product Management has deep insights and expertise around a business vertical or subject matter. He/she will define Gilt’s product strategy in those areas and lead the cross-functional team in the execution of that strategy.
What they do... (aka key accountabilities that are ongoing, i.e., not project-specific)
• Collaborate with key stakeholders to define Gilt’s product strategy in key areas or business verticals
• Identifying clear and responsive strategic KPIs that will help measure how well we are executing
• Lead the product definition within one or across multiple different teams
• Serve as the primary advocate for customers and jointly design the user experience with the UX Designers
• Closely monitor all analytics and perform quantitative analysis that will help guide product decisions
• Clearly communicate the progress and results of the team to the rest of the company
• Able to manage more junior product managers and establish best practices within the organization

Technical competencies
• Strong quantitative analysis skills
• Understanding of how to design tests and interpret test results
• Lead ideation workshops and product planning sessions
• Experience leading agile development teams
• Solid understanding of our tech stack
• Solid understanding of basic UX principles
• Extensive experience with e-commerce trends and best practices
• External client/partner management experience
Non-technical competencies
• Strong communication (verbal & written) skills
• Able to sell ideas and clearly explain product concepts
• Leadership both internal and external to the team
• Build and maintain strong relationships with co-workers
• Effectively manage team members to achieve team initiatives
• Curious and likes to experiment – comfortable with change
