Senior Lead, Global Energy Program
About the Role
WeWork is currently seeking a Senior Lead for the Global Renewable Energy Program to help WeWork achieve our RE100 goal by 2023. The Sr. Lead will work on the Sustainability & Wellbeing (S&W) team, reporting to the Global Energy Program Manager and working in close collaboration with the regional Energy Managers. They will assist with studying our current and future energy procurement needs, developing a renewable energy procurement strategy, assess financial and risk exposure of each project and partnerships and ultimately get us to running fully on clean energy. This is a great opportunity for an individual with strong previous experience in off-site renewable energy project financial and risk modelling to own a project in full.
Responsibilities (including but not limited to):
• Report to the Global Energy Program Manager
• Support the development and execution of a comprehensive renewable energy sourcing strategy which will include direct energy procurement and off-site renewable projects
• Perform necessary data gathering, analysis and reporting to show program progress
• Assist with all stages of executing our RE100 goal; data and market analysis, external/internal stakeholder engagement, RFP, financial analysis, risk assessment and mitigation strategy, contract development and negotiation, project management
• Stay up to date on latest market research and findings
• Work with the S&W Outreach and Engagement team to communicate energy program initiatives and achievements
• Work with regional Energy Managers to execute regional strategy
• Lead and support various projects as needed
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field; Master’s degree preferred
• 3+ years of related experience, focusing on energy procurement, off-site renewable strategies and projects
• Strong energy data analysis skills and experience; a mastery of Microsoft Excel and large datasets
• Strong in renewable energy project risk assessment and financial modeling
• Background in off-site renewable energy project execution
• Knowledgeable in different types of renewable energy project structures (e.g. on-site, PPA, vPPA, RECs)
• Ability to influence and to work cross-functionally in support of sustainability team objectives and goals
• Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills and outstanding relationship building skills at all levels inside and outside the organization
• Results oriented with an ability to operate multiple projects. A self-starter with superior organizational skills
• Proven ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment, and effectively manage and meet multiple, simultaneous deadlines with minimum assistance while maintaining a sense of humor
• Comfortable using G-Suite tools (Sheets, Docs, Slides, Forms)
• Fluency in English
